Bought my place 12 years ago, thermal boarded all the external walls on the inside face as part of full renovation. Makes an absolutley amazing difference to the bill. House is 15m x 9m and all open plan, hits 20'c plus throughout with just a single 2kw heater on!.
Well worth the cost n hassle.

Insulating your house now is too late.
Insulation also drastically up in prices, generally unavailible anyway and no decent installer base anyway.
A sensible person would have done it years ago, its not hard!

I was going to ask a similar question, looks like you may just get your 80's for Friday. Maybe down tommorow and up again friday or vice versa. But you never know with BOO.

Genuinely Sorry to hear of your troubles SMB, i trust you will continue to improve as time continues on and i wish you all the very best for the future. Cancer survivor myself (so far at least), and although different, after several years battling that, i can maybe appreciate some of the journey towards recovery you have endured. Its certainly not easy, and i admire your persistance and determination.
I would bring to your attention the 'filter' tab located just above the 'posting' box, As a returning member you are probably already aware of it, if you click on that you can remove the posters you dont wish to see on here, possibly would be the ideal solution for you. Just an idea.

I post here because this board used to be totally filled with incessant rampers blabbing on stating "£4.50 next week" etc day in day out, suckering in new people to invest money at a crazy high unrealistic valuation. The rampers kept on and on as the price dropped and dropped trying to sucker in more people to invest, despite the poor performance, all the way down from the 450's to the low 60's. They never let up.. I cant abide such people, intentionally trying to part people with their cash using such tactics.. Unfortunately LSE is full of the,. There are quite a few on here now with a negative voice, that balance out the one or two rampers that still practise this still today.

Anyway, your choice what you do, whether pro anti or a fence sitter it matters not really on a public board. I wish you well with your investments, but moreso you health.

No worries Ash, Glen seem to have a habit of late in using returns instead, not sure why but it does allow you to earn a bit more 'divi' income (above the allowance) and trade it off against the CG limits instead.

This will be because the payment isnt a dividend. It is a 'r3turn of capital' and therefore is treated differently as its not income.
Its a refund in effect of your own cash - so relevent to CG tax (it reduces your buy in price) and not divi tax (so no divi tax or allowance implications).
