All i have tried to get across is there are no black and white rules as to how to make cash, either capital gains on sp increases or soley the divis you bang on about.
There is a room for a mix and exactly the reason why i dont care that mikey doesnt pay any divis, but the rule that capital preservation is king 100% correct and should be all investors main goal. Everything else capital or divi is gravy.

Fira, im on the initial FiT tarrif, just over 62p per kwh for 25 years, great money spinner £2.5k back a year now linked to rpi and free leccy in the day. They screwed it down pretty rapidly to next to nothing now, but at current prices just the saving on the meter costs is worth the £3.5-4k they cost now to install. I paid over just £11k.

Did some research the other day on the ****test Ev car availible, a 24kw Zoe i think it was.
Max (yeah right) range 80 miles and 24kw to 'fill' it up.
Now on a blazing hot summers day my 4kw south facing solar Pv will generate around 23kwh.
So just enough to fill the car and get the Mrs to work and back for the day on a perfect day.
However the fly in the oitment is that the car will not be here in the day to actually take the charge, so it would need charging overnight, while i export my solar PV back to the grid for 4pence/kwh - which completely defeats the object of having solar Pv on the roof.
The whole system is cack handed and ill thought out.

EV, thats spot on.
There has been some legislation out in the EU for a number of years now forcing manufacturers to put electronics into each electric vehicle at source so they can have a simple 'switch on' date and start that charging regieme.
All sorts of issues about privacy wrapped up in the same package, so will be interesting to see how its implimented, but its the cost per mile that everybody is waiting for.

Old non common rail injectored VW diesel with Bosch fuel pump and a biodiesel conversion plant required in the garage, you know it makes sense :)
