Personally, cant see a reason why they couldnt use treasury shares to fund purchases, but wouldnt want them just 'dumped' onto the markets, would cause a proper wobble, prefer a stock exchange if that were the BODs plan.

But far prefer them cancelled outright, have never liked such a big holding.

Quite clearly they are not the only reasons Hexam, as you state the decline has been going on for a long long time and this has lost its major support around covid/lockdown which i believe started the rot. Shorter anound all over and as for 'trolls' being partly responsable then thats plain ridiculus

Also think that having the family flogging off their own little sidelines to the main group for silly money, and then flaunting that extracted wealth whenever they can on the likes of instagram etc, hasnt helped much either. Smacks a bit of the 'look at me lording it up' image. My view is II's see this as merely a private lifestyle funder for a few these days.
