The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
The interims look impressive to me considering the prevailing sentiment regarding property and liquidity. But the use of the phrase "cautiously optimistic" reflects the uncertainty Savills has about achieving its expected full year figures. To offset that, they have increased their dividend: "The increase reflects our continued confidence in the performance of the business" I ask myself, if they have continued confidence, then why use the phrase "cautiously optimistic"?
Hi Chan, marked down a bit today in line with the rest of the market I should think. Thanks for posting tip.
summary from moneyweek: "Zinc production at this miners Caijaying mine in China should double to 40,000 tonnes in 2008 and it is expected to hike its dividend by 50% this year. A buy on a p.e of only six." (7 September 2007)
Hi Chan, Interesting someone else said the same thing. Has most/all the hallmarks of a Zulu principle stock. Low valuation, good growth, consecutive sets of good figures, bullish chairman's statement, unique products. The only thing holding this down is sentiment, which means (unless there is an elephant in the room nobody has told us about), it's a bargain for private investors as well as bigger players. Don't trust my judgement though, I hold MXP (woops :( )
There was clearly profit taking post results. At 92 I was tempted to buy a third slice but am already a little over-stretched with various T trades. Uptake of the vista version of FX guard will help revenue growth still further. I know nothing of the "rumour" - but at these prices I guess RCG is a potential takeover target for a number larger corporations.
Hello Chan, no I didn't see that until today. It confirmed my decision to buy. I eventually managed to purchase some though limits and fill or kill attempts failed. It seems the sp may have benefited from this tip - roughly 23% up today.
totally agree. I emailed lse about omission of recent posts page. The page 404's so they've removed the code totally from the revamp.
Have a buy limit order at 9.5p on these which was not filled. 20% rise today and I think very promising upside on the basis of good fundamentals.
Terrific close from SOLA. Nearly closed for the weekend, but stuck to my guns. I make that a 42% bounce from results day.
why do you think I haven't been posting for a while ;) hehe
correct me if I am wrong but this looks good:- Profit of £456k on £3.96m turnover. Loss of £362k last year. Market cap £4m. Forward PE of about 4:- W H Ireland Detailed Broker Forecasts 2008 Date Rec Pre-tax EPS DPS Pre-tax 29/08/2007 BUY 1.58 2.20 1.86 2.60 Acquisition of Leapfrog and additional working capital through £500k placing of 6.7m shares "For the seven months to Jan 31, the Leapfrog Group had an operating profit of 1.8 mln aud on revenues of 4.9 mln aud. " Any thoughts?
I think so. My gut says this could easily go to 300 in the next few sessions, but you never go broke taking profit. There does seem to be continued weight on the buy side. I think the value comparison between SOLA and US listed competitors has come to the attention of investors and although results amounted to a profit warning, SOLA's growth rate is not as bad as all that. They aren't going to go under, they just couldn't expand at the ridiculous rate speculated by some analysts. Still think the management have a lot to learn about transparency though. Hopefully they've learnt their lesson now...
I could have done this so much better by not selling yesterday, but got back in during auction at 258p. I'll be happy with a 5% return from here. I'm assuming the shorting party is well and truly over now.
Re: AAZ - I read up a bit about them. Shorttrader on advfn has pessimistic outlook from what I remember on the basis that Soviet reserve estimates were wrong. Perhaps at this price it is value though - Know of any news?
256 now. up like a rocket.
9.8% profit too after costs - happy with that for the timescale. sold at 238.06.
exactly wayne. It's called "scalping" for stops and often occurs before the close of play to catch out PI's who often make all their moves by about lunchtime. Some good advice from k7pws regarding stops on the mxp thread - to only use stops on large cap less volatile shares.
Excellent progress today. I am going to be greedy and see where this goes. There would have to be a complete about turn in sentiment for my entry point at 214p to be hit.
bit of a guess here, but this looks like a good entry point for a momentum trade. £3k on a T20
I read that too in the Friday edition of the FT. Page 36 Markets - Small Caps "Staying with solar companies, Solar Integrated Technologies advanced 11.9 percent to 80p amid rumours that a construction company was looking to buy a 29 percent stake. There was also talk that a European rival was set to approach Solar Integrated with a takeover offer"
