Bailey, the governor of the Bank of England,had a go at "short sellers, selling " back in March....
sounded worried tbh. I recall PI's on here denying this and calling other posters liars for stating that short sellers had Lloy on the books, now it's declared i think others will follow.....

There were more than 1,500 new cases of coronavirus confirmed in the UK today, the highest daily figure in more than two months.

According to new data from the Department of Health and Social Care, 1,522 more people were confirmed to have contracted the disease in the last 24 hours.

The new figure represents a 50 per cent increase on the day before, when there were 1,048 new cases.
It is also the highest daily number of new cases recorded since 12 June, just as the UK was beginning to emerge from lockdown.

Spain saw one of the most draconian Covid-19 lockdowns in Europe, but two months after it was lifted, the virus is spreading faster than in any neighbouring nation.

It now has Europe's fastest-rising caseload, with 142 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the past two weeks.

By the time the state of emergency ended on 21 June, Spain was registering 100 to 150 cases per day. That number has risen to more than 3,000.

French Prime Minister Jean Castex has responded to a steep increase in infections with a series of measures including increased testing and compulsory face-coverings in Paris.

The number of "red zones" where the virus is in active circulation has risen from two to 21.

If France did not act fast, the spread could become "exponential", he warned.

A number of European countries are seeing a new surge in cases, and Germany is also planning tighter rules.

French officials recorded 5,429 new infections on Wednesday and Mr Castex said Covid-19 was "gaining ground" across the country.

There was an "undeniable resurgence of the epidemic", he said, with a national rate of 39 positive cases per 100,000 people, four times the rate of a month ago.

some have obviously done extremely well out of the scheme, enough to carry it over...which is very good news and i'm pleased for them and there staff.

livestock, thanks for the link, the economy follows the market but the economy is stalling or reversing either way small businesses are not floated on the markets and they are falling as each week passes. eat out to help out was a welcome and a savour for some many but a stay of execution for many. 64 million meals on the scheme eh, but i feel these figures are not sustainable in the next couple of months.
I hope the Gov reconsider there stance on Furlough otherwise the markets will find out who is in charge and the economy will tank....
