Recent drops do seem excessive to me, but we are in an increasingly bearish market and still well up on March lows of approximately 20p.

@ srostron1983. Most likely speculators bought in the last few days, also expecting this good news. Then when Prime Minister confirmed it, they probably viewed mid-seventies at this time as a high watermark for the shares/unlikely to go up much further in the next few weeks so decided to bank some decent short-term profits and sell.

@tricky752. But if he doesn't and didn't see airline stock as worth/viable holding for the next ten years then he IS doing as he says to do.

Half-yearly earnings report for Marston's comes out Wednesday next week (10 June).

Really positive stuff. I like that how unlike with many mergers (where the companies talking about making savings from efficiency savings from needing less overall staff in the combined businesses) they are immediately talking about creating jobs and expanding. A great outlook.

Maybe the Covid won't magically disappear, but the patience of the British to maintain the current restrictions will. In Sweden, they are now starting to live the same as before Covid, and just accepting a slightly higher death rate. Probably rightly, they've realised, what's the point of a slightly safer life if it's much more miserable.

Yep, as for as I'm concerned there's room for both currently. You can make good money short-term flicking or you can hold for a great long-term investment. I'm doing the latter.

Agree totally willywonka199. I have been building a long term position in this since it fell to around 20p and wasn't buying into some brief hype. I am a long time reader of these boards and only registered to comment last Friday when the SP doubled, and wanted to share in the joy with fellow investors. Good luck all.

I suspect it is just short term speculators banking profits. As a long term hold I see this as continuing to climb.

Does the shareholder card discount drinks as well as food?
