The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
On Linkedin, Haythorpe refers to n himself as "Executive Director". At Companies House, Davenport, Jones, Tang and Scott are recorded as directors but not Haythorpe. Last filed entry at Cos Hse is dated 27th March. There is usually a lapse in time between physical filing and a record of that filing.
In the RNS dated 11 April 2022. Tang announced that Andrew Haythorpe would join ECR as a non board CEO prior to assuming the role as executive director, subject to approval, in six months time. As far as I am aware Haythorpe is still not a director and no announcement has been made as to why the "approval" for him to be appointed has been declined.
Further, in his chairman's statement in the final results released today, Tang makes the point that a reason why Haythorpe was appointed was his experience as a board member of many listed companies; yet Haythorpe has not been appointed a director and so cannot be a board member.
Am I right? Does any shareholder have a view?
but where, if your suspicion is correct, does it take the ordinary shareholder?
I personally feel it is up to the ability of AH and AJ to prove themselves as good geologists and prove up a commercial resource. I respect AH for his ability as a businessman but ECR is an explorer and if AH and AJ cannot be successful as explorers one would be better off investing in something more boring rather than in dreamworld.
As holders we can complain about lab delays, look at photos of drilled cores, listen to hopeful interviews etc but at the end of the day it is a commercial resource which will give holders value. It could still happen.
We may have year end results tomorrow and read how great Tang thinks ECR and he is.
anders - I was hoping to hear from Tamer who you may recall told me last Friday that he had oh so busy a weekend to help me, how Haythorpe managed to succeed at Crescent Gold. I tried myself to research it, but did not succeed. Perhaps Tamer has managed to get the answer during the course of the week. Whatever; whilst an element of luck may well be involved, you have to be a successful geologist to find a commercial resource.
Tamer - thanks but I had read AH's history on Linked-in and his posts. Now please try and answer the points which I made! How did Crescent Gold succeed? The facts please if you can find them - I failed to find them. Creswick was talked up in the 3rd March RNS but much depends for success on the ability of the geologists plus mining crew to identify where to drill and then successfully locate the lode. Have AH and Adam Jones that ability? I had hoped that I could locate that ability on the part of AH from insight into the success at Crescent Gold. As for ECR, all we have at present is the AH/AJ attempt to identify an extension to the 2019 find at Blue Moon. On current evidence they have largely failed with that. Perhaps I am being unfair and over-critical. If on the other hand they realise that which they think is a resource per the 3rd March RNS, the market will imo be impressed.
Tamer - all very well but how did he do it. Was it down to his ability as a geologist or the competence of ANOther Geologist Esq supported by the business acumen of AH? I have searched unsuccessfully to establish the history of Crescent Gold and how and why the share price rose exponentially.
Although AH is not a director of ECR Minerals (do company search) whereas both Jones and Scott are, I regard Haythorpe has a person holding himself out as a director - he signs off RNSs for a start. What is murky is whether as a PDMR and not a formal director, he has to disclose an interest if he were to buy shares. Jones and Scott would obviously have to. There is no evidence that any of them have purchased shares. I personally feel that there have been windows since say last April when they would have been able to buy shares - but that's my view.
One cannot stop persons posting; just block them. However you appeared for the first on this thread Thursday just as I see it to carry over and on an argument with Melville from GGP. Can you please carry on your dispute with him on the GGP thread and not here.
Mental - I know someone (former ceo of another company and geologist) who has known Trevor Davenport for years) who speaks highly of Davenport. He is respected. So whilst I have reservations about Tang I do not about Davenport.
If I put together the information in the Creswick RNSs over the past year, I can understand the current position. But the result is down to the ability and competence or otherwise of Haythorpe, Jones (both geologists) and the drilling team in order to get it right. One cannot dispute the comments made by Melville about the past. The collorary is that ECR has a new CEO (Haythorpe) appointed 11 months ago. If he and Jones are good geologists they should prove up a resource - the extent of that remains to be seen. Haythorpe is confident - let's see if that confidence is justified.
