I see a placing coming after promotion of the company and this company joining the main market. Can we agree to differ? You may well be proved right and we will be forcibly be taken out as part of the 10%.. But if you are right, at what price do you think? it surely cannot be at 21 pence?

I am not sure that you are right. You have voiced that thought before. I think that an attempt will be made to widen the share base via a placing (IPO) and that somehow (I am not in the business) it will give Pala an opportunity to raise some capital although that may not be part of the package. Where we agree is that corporate action is afoot and I would prefer to be in than out. I think that by the analysts visit and the advert splurge we are seeing the beginning of the sale process. Numis may well now come into play. I do not think that Pala want a private play to then IPO. Penny bet Gibraltar1 ?

You recent post on here about a possible IPO could be near the mark. The absence of any guidance may indicate that Pala have had their fill and now is exit time in part but not via a third party buyer but via an IPO with new capital to be raised and Pala throwing part of their stake into the mix. The analysts visit to srx may be part of that process. Also the carrot in addition to investing in a world beating deposit could be a sustainable dividend which could come into play when Gangama beds in. Lift off is Q2 2016 which is during the first half of the 2016 year so a declaration could come with the full year 2016 results or I wonder whether the board could surprise with an interim (nice to think wishfully) dividend. Any way it would be good to reward all shareholders and give Pala the opportunity to cash in some invested capital. To use your oft found expression - just musing.

Since Pala reported their increased stakes in 2011 and again in April 2015 with all due speed I have come to the conclusion that unless they and the company want to risk a complaint to the regulator, the purchaser of 13.8 m shares last Friday was not Pala. Some here may disagree. That leaves the question as to who the vendor was. Suppose the vendor was Investec getting rid of the remainder of their stock and we have another ii who has no duty to report a holding of under 3%? I am purely reading the situation as it looks on the basis that everyone is behaving with a straight bat and not as the Late geoffrey Howe might put it with a broken bat. Time may prove me wrong. havesomefun - I would not necessarily rely on that page 21 statement should the company have in mind an IPO when there might be an element of dilution.

I have just had another look at the rules. I made an incorrect assessment yesterday in that the party trading a significant interest has 4 business days after the trade to notify the company. The company should notify the market no later than the end of the business day following receipt of the information. That would seem to take us to the end of Friday 30 October. In my view if Pala are the recipient of the 13.8 million shares they are bound to notify the company. If the recipient is per chance a new investor the % that the 13.8 million shares represents is below 3% and would not be reportable. If the shares represents the balance of Investec's holding then the % is below 3% - they are already under 3%. If they are not where did they come from and is the seller bound to notify the company?

We have to do what we can to protect the minority shareholders' interests on the basis that the iis can look after themselves.

If you consider the Disclosure and Transparency rules the company has 2 days in which to make an announcement. If I have read it correctly the time runs from the day after the trade. So Monday to Wednesday is 2 days. I am allowing the extra day i.e. until 7am tomorrow morning for the RNS. Indeed there could be two or two within one. By that I mean that since there were 13.8 million shares traded plus perhaps another 100K and assuming that Pala were the buyer that would be one announcement. If they are part of the remainder of the Investec stock we know that they are or were already under 3% and given that 13.8m is not far short of 3% they could be the balance not already dealt. If they come from another ii then that should be announcement two. The second issue is that the Monday RNS which detailed the visit by three analysts stated that a presentation would go onto the company's website. The three days are up; where is the presentation? Given that the earlier move by Investec to below 3% was never the subject of an RNS unless I missed something that was not printed!!! I am watching with regulatory interest.

It is either genuine move to promote the company leading to a main listing following an IPO to get the free float above 25% as a precursor to the application for the main listing or as I was suspecting Friday action about which we should get our collective act together viz protection of the interests of minority shareholders. I had decent conversations with JS at both the 2014 and 2015 AGMs and have become cynical because of lack of developments. I had given credit for the problems caused by the ebola outbreak.

Is this a precursor to a drive towards an increased share price and an IPO to broaden the share base with a view to a full listing? Speculation on my part.

Agreed Gibraltar1 - may be premature but minority shareholders may well not see decent value for their investments without standing up for themselves. Your philosophy quite rightly has been based on the four iis seeking value. One has been picked off and when Investec went below 3% there was no RNS as there should have been, Lo and behold Investec land up as Nomad a few months later. I may be reading too much into it but as corbs stated yesterday morning the rutile in the ground is worth a ton and this company is a very different concern to that in 2011. Pala deserve their reward for being instrumental in the turn around but not at the expense of the "small man". The RNS if Pala have increased may not be until Tuesday.

I have just got in from the office and I intended to say exactly the same thing Gibraltar1 and I was going to ask both you and Corbine whether it was worthwhile us having closer communication in order to protect ourselves. That is entirely a matter for each of you but there is good value in Sierra Rutile and I for one would like a fair share of the value and not be (ab)used by any majority shareholder. I had a couple of weeks ago researched protection for minority shareholders thinking that this might happen. Up to you guys but I would like to be able to speak to each of you. Corbine - we are at risk of not getting fair treatment. Gibraltar - I do not like being treated as a fool although I am aware that the person behind Pala has very deep pockets. I have probably said too much. This site is likely to be monitored.

I have just picked up on advfn a later trade at 19 pence of 100,000 shares but more importantly another trade of 13,814,437 shares at 19.54. Now who may have sold that number and to whom? Pala the recipient?
