The main reason is the world’s markets sentimentally follow the US . The US markets, collectively, are the big dog. The UK is underinvested - because of Brexit which, as a result, omits their member nations policies for investing outside the EU. Small cap companies like will not get ‘Inst Inv’ interest until they demonstrate performance, which has been lacking in CPI. The consensus of the city people I chat to - expect the US markets to continue their trend, especially with falling interest rates and inflation. Tariffs on imported goods will allow US manufacturers to raise their prices and thus benefit all shareholders. The business of America is, ‘Business’ ! Stick with really big global companies, like HSBC, who will still be around in 10 years time.
