Oilers, make dusters sound positive, twist facts...
Quoting Weekend testing, while suggesting last night of Ramadan might be an issue..
So I guess they expect testing to take longer than letting on,,,
Confused
They have drilling fluid loss, yet swabbing is to removed fluid weighing down the oil under neath, stopping it from flowing.
Thats not lost, its in the way....
If it was fluid lost through permeability, then the fluid is flowing into the rock pushing any oil back in, would they detected oil..Well they did say oil in the cuttings, but did'nt mention how well it flowed in solvent,...but the cutting would be full of drilling fluid as thats where they suggest the lost fluids are going ??
My guess is they drilled into a fracture/fault, and losing the fluid into that space.
And they are hoping the fracture is the seeps migration path.
So clearing out the drilling fluid hoping it flows, so clean out and wait..
I would guess if they are losing enough fluid, they cant control the mud pressure(safety) and also risk not be able to lubricate the drill string, risking snagging, or a break, so will need to seal that area with casing before continuing..
Zephyr, hit a fault which over pressured the well, they took precautions, ended up covering the drill pad in oil, ;(
