I think this is important for two reasons, 1 - they don't want to have any disruption and to risk the current boom in travel with staff strikes and discontent, 2 - In order for BA to agree to pay rises at this level, they must continue to be seeing record profits on the horizon in a growing market. This bodes well for the SP, I look forward to hearing the next set of results!! Hopefully a continued march now towards 200+ GL All!!
I think if we can keep above 165 is a good start and head towards the 170s, I think interest rates will go up this week but probably by only 0.25 percentage point, from what I'm reading the experts recon we are near the end for rises. This will hopefully provide some confidence to the market. When are the next inflation figures out? If we can show that wasn't just a blip last month and costs are coming back down, then hopefully SP here will go northwards being dragged up by wider FTSE 100. GL All!!
BOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Get in there at last on the way back ready to soar today, Good Luck All!!! Great Results!
I think at the moment, the likelihood of strike action and european airspace restrictions is dragging this down. Saying that, good results out and down it goes :(. Hopefully a decent rise next week!! GL All!!
@Robbren,
I've seen the results, they were just being cautious in their future predictions given the current climate where in. The market was dragged down on Jet2 yesterday as their founder is retiring and also the US jobs data, which dragged down the overall markets . The markets were massively overdone, and your seeing the shares coming back already today. As an investor in IAG, EZJ, JET2 and WIZZ, I'm reasonably confident of a good bounce back, not withstanding any further curve balls. I also worked for BA for 20 years +, it should not be lost on people that they used the guise of covid to make some deep structural changes e.g. LGW, Cabin Crew contracts, and I'm certain IAG wiil deliver continued strengthening results. GL All.
I think what Covid showed everyone, life is too short and people will most certainly take holidays abroad you never know what's around the corner. I think people are cutting back elsewhere so maybe not eating out as much etc so they can still go abroad for their holidays and enjoy the sun. Will be an interesting update, I have a small amount here but looking at latest predictions thinking of topping up even at current levels as I think next trading update will be very good!!
I think what is still not priced in here, IAG took the opportunity to get some long planned changes in under the guise of COVID, staff were reduced on higher salaries, a subsidiary created at LGW, surely this is going to start paying dividend in the next few years, it would be good to get this back to pre covid levels in terms of the SP. A lot more efficient airline compared with before covid, so be good to see the SP get back over £2 and start the climb upwards cruising to the £3 mark. GLA holders, I'm in here day trading and long term holder too.
