I can deal with delays—it’s a frontier market and Africa, after all. But I cannot tolerate poor communication from the company or the homemade volatility they create.

Given today is Friday the 17th, if no RNS lands by close of business, the market may start to question whether “this week” was too optimistic. That said, KEFI has a history of tightrope-walking these timelines, so a Monday morning update wouldn’t be out of character.

In fact DEC is moving its primary listing to the USA in the next few months. Out with the FTSE250 index, but remaining listed in London and some say DEC will join the S&P600 Small Cap Index. If included, that will bring in ~$165m of passive funds since it would get a 0.15% allocation. That’s about 17% of shares today.

I always thought I’d be more excited when it finally happened—when KEFI would take off and all those years of holding would pay off. Truth is, it’s bittersweet. The toll it’s taken over time isn’t small. At one point I held 2% of the entire company. Back in 2008, I bought my first lot of shares and remember standing on the platform at Hatton Garden thinking, “Let’s see how this goes.”

Well, it went. Slowly. Painfully. Sometimes absurdly.

My daughter was still in secondary school then. Now she’s a criminologist and psychologist—and yes, she used this very messaging platform during her studies. It’s been quite the case study in human behaviour. The shedloads of lunatics we’ve encountered here over the years? She could write a thesis.

But through all the noise, the long-term holders stayed the course. And now, maybe, just maybe, it’s our time.

Kefi Gold & Copper – delayed significant news flow now really very imminent indeed!

Kefi Gold & Copper (KEFI) has announced “the signing of the US$240 million Tulu Kapi Gold Project debt capital offering is now expected to take place this week”. This is a further slight delay from when we previously hoped but, in the context of the multi-years process to get to this point, that’s an irrelevance and “the overall process remains unchanged from the steps and schedule previously set out”. What of the now seemingly very imminent news helping the shares currently up to above 1.5p?

C&p from telegram. Fascinated by TW’s comments that he knows the reason but is not inside. I assume he’s not inside on the basis that there is no change to the announced ‘expectation’ of sign off. Any change would obviously have required an rns. Arguably one is needed on Monday if announced timescale expectations need to be adjusted.

Based on TW’s chilled piece it’s probably just a minor delay due to bureaucratic issues (or some other ultimately inconsequential issues) that are beyond their control.

Interestingly, he is usually quick to savage Harry but in this instance he doesn’t blame him or Kefi at all. Basically telling holders to chill and switch off and it will happen when it happens and could be ‘any second’ Also adds that he is ‘long and strong’
