Going for an educated guess - about 80km west of LCCM Phoenix Minerals have applied for a PEPR - i'm not sure on what mineral they're mining - note that Phoenix has applied for a noticeably larger mining area than LCCM

Phoenix's PEPR went off to Aboriginal Affairs on 03/02/2022 & came back on 17/03/2022. DEM then made an offer on 06/04/2022. Ours went off on 25/03/2022, roughly 30 wd turnaround for AA, plus a couple of weeks for DEM to make an offer? Mid May for news on LCCM? (well within SML's estimated window - ha!)

*also i understand that SML is a stock & not commodity - but just referring to the fact that investors within the mining/commodity sector often take a more short term view with buying, holding & selling

News on LCCM will confirm your post Lupi - the production is close/ready enough to produce decent revenue within 12 months of PEPR approval - there's good insight in a Forbes article as to why today's RNS didn't see much of a move:

People investing in commodities tend to take a shorter term 'here & now' view - Redmoor, although a potentially huge revenue source is nowhere near production - we are years away any productive movement on site, the only way we'd see value from it reflected in the current SP is if someone bidded for the land tomorrow.

IMO LCCM, big money from the CVI receivership or any acquisition/takeover of the company (in part or full) is the only catalyst for big movement on this SP

On that note has anyone actually contacted John/any directors as to the response from the DEM?

Hopefully a rerate to 0.4p mark today, 2037 is definitely a feasible timeframe for the UK government to chuck some money into Redmoor. The further drilling around the more mineral abundant area will yield some humdingers by which point the gov will be looking to accelerate mining within the UK for renewable energy minerals - much like they have done recently with small oil firms in the North Sea when they've run low on oil (see hurricane energy SP over past year)

Will they have to inform us as soon as the above is lodged via an RNS? Surely this would be lodged by now, it's not like they're doing anything else!

Happy Easter JD - was hoping for a pre Easter RNS this morning... No news means that at least the PEPR is moving through the processes and it hasn't been flat out rejected. Even if the documentation is being passed office to office on the back of a lethargic slug

If it's any consolation copper prices are rising (faster than inflation) and look to continue to rise if all the reports from Goldman Sachs & Bloomberg are anything to go by - worst case scenario and we produce in 2023 we'll be selling for more profit in real terms, as much as i would like production to start tomorrow.

I'm optimistic if this went to the Department of Aboriginal Affairs at the end of March that the DEM are comfortable with the PEPR, but the DOAA will also have a turnaround consulting local communities (Leigh Creek) which will probably take a month or so. From facebook it looks like a town that's gagging to get more footfall, so i don't see them being too upset about restarting production at MOL

As mentioned yesterday 5 years+ at Cobre underpins this SP, it's cheap even on that basis, it's one to hold until the value kicks in either from redmoor, LCCM or the CVI receivership claim - as bitcoinbuyer says put it in the bottom drawer

Yep - Slurm, DEM's given it the thumbs up if it's gone to Aboriginal Affairs, if you look on the sarig map and click all restricted land filters nothing overlaps with the mine, I guess issue would be run off but as mentioned in the 05/01 RNS there's low acid forming capacity.

There was a report from the aboriginal affairs against Leigh Creek Energy - who are trying to do a coal gasification project (published 29 march 2022) bottom map shows a close up of the area, bottom restricted (grey diagonal lines) site is LCCM, the actual mining footprint (shown on Sarig) doesn't actually overlap with any registered or reported heritage sites. - the fact that MOL was an operating mine until 2012 is a positive here, shows that there must be no cultural significance and locals will be accustomed to mining in that area.

i mean tbf Fira i don't think anyone would mind if they commenced a mining operation 1km from copley, rather i think the locals would endorse the idea. It's also about 50km away from any heritage sites

I think they'd only send it on for approval by the aboriginal affairs team if the DEM have given it their go ahead.

Copley (a nice little town in the outback) is about 1-2km away so i'm sure aboriginal communities there will have to voice their bit (if they haven't alread). Hopefully the prospects of jobs nearby at LCCM will be enticing
