The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
I have only recently dipped my toe in the water here but I thought this was a decent update. Cash balance increasing, debt reducing and hopefully good prospects for next year. Maybe there's some sell the news here but I have added a little using proceeds from Centamin (awful news today). Fresnillo was also a disappointing announcement but I think they have scope to recover quickly next year.
I managed a sell at 151.8. I have retained a very small holding.
Today's announcement about next year's forecast is new 'news' so I don't think it is priced in. The optics are terrible. A few years ago we were being promised 600k ounces and now another year at 400k. I have held Centamin for almost ten years in expectation of a time like now when gold is in demand but production is now shrinking not growing. The only reason to hold would be for a dividend which will also be reduced, you would think? Once again, this highlights the risk of being a one-trick pony. Sadly, I think I will sell if I can and not be tempted to buy again until much lower.
So... all eyes on Monday now then. Will the fun begin in the morning or in the afternoon?
I do hope I haven't got my hopes up. The market often does the opposite to what I expect.
I'm holding on HL but sold some at 775 on another platform. This looks like it could go to 700. If it does I will buy them back. Happy days!
About today's drop, I got an email from HL saying no buying was possible from today and no selling from tomorrow until sometime on Monday. I haven't tried but I guess I could only sell on HL today...
If it's the same on other platforms, will the closing price today be static until Monday?
Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking about. I expect we will see a bit of a rise before the results and then another slap down. Almost predictable rinse and repeat.
Maybe Martin will wait for the share price to get trashed again at the next results?
agree Mr Bond
Just look back at last few years to see how long it takes for these 'issues' to work themselves out.
I am taking advantage by rebuilding my holding in a fee-free ISA. Fed up of paying ridiculous platform and dealing fees!
Back to where we were on Wednesday evening. WTAF is this?
Took a little nibble at 156.5
Not to mention any fall in POG or another dash to cash market sell-off!
Looking back at what happened last year, there was an initial sell-off, a bit of a bounce and then renewed fall. Overall something like 142-104 so about 30%? Replicate that here and what are we looking at? About 140-150?
Rebess, your comment yesterday was almost prophetic!
I got 184 something. I was amazed. From past experience, I feel it will fall even more like one of those down 20% days
can't get a quote. feel a bit sick as I bought back what i had previously sold yesterday :-(
Sideways consolidation period before next move up?
I guess the share really didn't like £6
Bit of Zebedee action early doors but this looks like breakout territory now?
Whoever sold 1m shares at 15:13 for 575p must be feeling a bit gutted right now...
This is looking interesting, or is that a bit premature?
