The first of many distribution agreements imo......... http://www.investegate.co.uk/ddd-group-plc--ddd-/rns/tridef-smartcam-distribution-agreement/201506010700367323O/
good coms from the top - my guess is that they will partner with someone like QQ with a license deal. I asked about the vids that we don't have access to (below) - I looked up the DDD job title for the person who uploaded the technical videos. Where's the sp going to go if they secure a license deal with say QQ? Only 33% of the shares are in public hands. DYOR. http://i.youku.com/u/UMTc5MTg3OTgyOA==
yep, encouraging - I wonder if Skype/QQ etc will bundle it into their software as an option
'Importantly, as a software application, TriDef SmartCam does not require any special hardware such as a 3D sensor or 'green screen' to perform the background replacement. This solution is both highly cost effective and easy to distribute as it has been created to ensure that it is already compatible with many popular Windows software applications, which already have hundreds of millions of users globally.'
'Based on DDD's extensive image analysis expertise and technologies, TriDef SmartCam has been developed in close collaboration with some of the world's leading video conference and game video software developers with millions of test sequences having been processed to refine the performance of the algorithms used in the solution.' ------------

31st March 2015 ‘Investment Summary
The opportunity to (re)build a profitable licensing business with 2D seems under-appreciated as the company only recently began to showcase the new products in late 2014. A portfolio of products is being marketed in Asia and the US where there are potentially some impressive opportunities. The current valuation does very little justice to this.’

'Revenue for the six months ended 31 March 2015 was £1,516,635 (2014: £1,670,993), '
As a general rule I understand it's best to short something on a downward trend. i.e. not this. Although if you sit and watch this, sometimes seems possible to pick a frothy moment. I'm not doing so well, but it's not a total disaster. I would take a look back at the charts for some key levels. 279, 293 ?
I see they're hiring staff to work on KapChat - http://www.builtinla.com/job/senior-android-engineer-7 - BOD seem to be reliably genuine, with a history of winning blue-chip contracts. Near-term potential here imv, with the 2d products available soon........ http://vimeo.com/115739664 DTOR etc
'Patent pending waterproof hair' lol - You have to hover over the icons to see the comments. They seem to be making small adjustments to improve the site, attention to detail. http://genmeinc.com
"Need something on Android out there" ------------ I gather from email that they're making an Android mobile app to simplify 'selfies' packaged with Smartcam - So I'm not selling - CEO knows how to win contracts, and the technology is already in beta, and in negotiations with OEMs and distributors
due to the 6.10pm RNS on Monday evening. Not exactly wonderful imo http://www.investegate.co.uk/reach4entertainment--r4e-/rns/trading-statement/201505111810078403M/
I topped up here today at 2.11 because I've had good coms from the top, and I think that here we have a rare mix of a boring ;) but genuine BOD, mixed with exciting and useful background removal technology. We're going to be able to use this tech to replace the backgrounds in Skype, QQ, Webex, GoToMeeting etc without using green-screen. Imagine making a Skype call and being able to easily display your own photographs in the background. The new 2D products, currently in beta and in negotiations with OEMs and distributors, have a wider, less restricted reach in the market than the 3d products. - I gather that the initial target for Smartcam are the millions of business and consumer users of products like Skype (600m users), and we're also going to see it packaged within Android mobile apps for things like 'selfies' as seen in the DDD promo videos: http://vimeo.com/121422478 I asked if I could buy Smartcam by say December this year, and I understood from the reply that it should be available for me to buy well before then, if everything goes to plan. Revenue can probably be anticipated not only from OEM licensing, but also from direct to market online stores like GooglePlay, and also from affiliate marketing. The other product Kapchat looks exciting if you're into Facebook and that type of thing, although I think it's also useful for business and presentation. We're going to be able to very easily reposition and resize the foreground, and mix that with different backgrounds. I gather that one particular potential content partner has recently given outstanding feedback on KapChat. So personally I think this is very cool, highly useful tech, and presented without the usual overhype and ambiguity seen with other AIM companies. Obviously I've bought shares because I think DDD is undervalued, and has near term 'turnaround' potential due to the new 2D products. AIMHO only - DYOR etc.
Good coms received from the top. I find this exciting, and it looks like I might get my hands on the Smartcam sooner than I thought. Will contact you via Twitter. I'll also ask if it's okay to post the rather thorough email here.
I sent CY an email on Friday re a few Smartcam questions.........no reply yet
