Good news for Tertiary Minerals (up 100% earlier) and the junior mining sector as a whole today, with a collaborative agreement with First Quantum Minerals for two prospects in the North-west Province of Zambia.
Good news for Shinganda also in the North-west Province and located 30 km due south of the Mushima prospect licence No 27068-hq-lel (RNS).
Mushima is 20 km from the Kalengwa Copper Mine which in it's heyday yielded grades of 26/27% Cu and reputed to be the highest grade ever deposit in Zambia. The mine was so profitable they could afford to truck the ore directly from the mine 400 km to Kitwe for smelting/processing.
The junior mining sector is warming up.

They have they have their issues at present. Their flagship asset Cote Gold under construction, seems to be getting more expensive by the day. They are looking for ways to fund the shortfall, liquidating assets is just one option.
Four and a half years in, of a six year JV and a further spend of $4m for 70% at Senala, the fate of this prospect could easily change course.
With many options available to IamGold such as, retain licence as future back-up to Boto (original plan) or, develope Fare as a stand-alone possibly or, spend the budget delineate a resource and sell their 70% or, sell their 51% realise cash today and cease further expenditure are just a few.
Whatever the outcome, a decision must be near imo.

For those new to Galileo Resources, the Kalumbila discovery referred to is now the Sentinel Mine.
At the last count, the 14th largest copper mine in the world. Probably moved up the ranks though, with the recent massive investment.

Liked the reference to the Kalumbila discovery and realisation by Mr Bird & Co in the 2000's, sold to FQM in 2009 and now generating profits of $200-300m a quarter.
Large scale/long life are the projects the Majors will be looking for(eventually) when the market moves.
Sp gains of not 10%, 20% or even 100% but many multiples of today's price.
All five projects have this possibility. Not in any particular order;
Kamativi. 520 sq km of unexplored ground adjacent to an old tin mine whose discarded material (tailings) contain 70% spodumene. The Chinese have taken a position at the mine.
Bulawayo. Gold and now nickel. 11/12 km anomaly not laterite but the much sought after sulphide.
Shinganda. Brand new prospect with some historic workings (small open-pit) and two drill holes. First attempt (drilling) for 50.3m @ 1.53% Cu including 7m @ 4.46% Cu + 2m @ 11.31% Cu.

Today, responding to a press query on the possibility of placing the mine on care and maintenance following news of erratic payments to contractors, perceived forced leave and terminated contracts at the mine, the Mineworkers Union of Zambia (MUZ) have requested Rothschild Investment Bank expedite the restructuring process of the Mopani Copper Mines.
The Government want the new investment, the Union want the new investment, and the people of Zambia must want the new investment.
Investing in Galileo Resources, in some small way, must actually be making a difference.
