And what would really ignite the AGM?
MRE issued with the Interim Exploration Report the day before the AGM on Mon 7 Dec (night 6 Dec in UK)
Hi badshah,
Interim Exploration reports normally out around 10/11th but last December's were issued the day before AGM therefore assume this year same deal:
Mon 7 Dec (night 6 Dec in UK) Interim Exploration results for Havieron from Newcrest.
But in relation to Havieron SB has so far indicated that they are working towards75% ownership and a JV with GGP.
Correct Matilda,
CEO of Newcrest Sandeep Biswas has stated in the past that he would prefer to buy assets rather than companies.
Oh those results!
On the basis that NCM issued the interim results the day before last year's AGM,
Yes!!
Any day now before the AGM.
Tomorrow Wed 25th will be 14 weeks since GH said 6-8 weeks.
Add the up to 6 weeks delay at the labs = Results tomorrow.
I wish!
Hi Bamps,
According to Newcrest's quarterly report for period ending 30 Sep 20:
Realised gold price $/oz $1,837
Realised copper price $/lb $2.97 ( $/t $6.548)
I am ignoring all the conspiracy theories concerning the Scallywag results.
The expecting timing of the drill results is in the public domain:
1) GH CEO of GGP indicated in his interview on 19 Aug that Scally wag results would probably expect take about 6 to 8 weeks.
2) ABC News reported that because of huge demand drill results could be delayed up to 6 weeks.
Therefore added together the Scallywag results could take about 12 to 14 weeks.
From the 19 August 12-14 weeks takes us to 11th - 25th November.
Allow a few days to review the results and prepare the RNS.
RNS probably issued within the next two weeks, so therefore before the AGM.
So stop making up stories about why the results are delayed, just look at the facts.
"Laboratories which test drilling samples are under pressure to keep up, resulting in delays of up to six weeks for results"
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2020-10-11/modern-day-gold-rush-in-western-australia-despite-pandemic/12749898
From 3:03 GH: "I would say generally we would expect 6 to 8 weeks, probably before we get first set of results back from the drilling"

Correct firstmodern
Newcrest still send cores to the labs for independent testing but they test on site for near real time results>

Last year's farm-in was a month after the Havieron drill results in Feb 2019;
This year I assume that GH & SB have an "oven ready" farm-in agreement ready to sign on favourable drill results from Scally.
And I can only assume that GH would also want the Scally drill results to be out before the AGM.
Well Mush can you imagine if on Monday 7 Dec we had 5 RNS 's!
Scallywag, Farm-in, Interim, MRE, Decline!!
Thank you RC and welcome aboard Tildo.
(1) Anytime from now to Thu 26 Nov AEM and Drill results for Scallywag
(2) Any time after drill results: Announcement of farm-in agreement of Scallywag with NCM
(3) Mon 7 Dec (night 6 Dec in UK) Interim Exploration results for Havieron from Newcrest
(4) Tues 8 Dec AGM
(5) In December Release of Inferred MRE for SE portion of Havieron
(6) GDXJ % announced 11 Dec? Top up 18 Dec?
(7) In December or January 2021 Commencement of exploration/mining decline at Havieron
The above based on the following assumptions:
1) Based on the original 6-8 week estimate by GH plus the up to 6 week delay at the labs and the comment by GH at the end of October that the Scally results will be out soon. (No conspiracy theories here just delayed by the busy labs)
2) No farm-in agreement until drill results in public domain (farm-in at Havieron in 2019 was announced a month after the second set of drill results.)
3) Interim Exploration report normally out around 10/11th but last December's were issued the day before AGM therefore assume this year same deal.
4) As notified by GGP
5) Notified by NCM
6) Did not research this, copied from this share chat so it must be true.
7) As reported by NCM
So much looking forward to a Christmas out of lockdown
CEO of Newcrest has previously stated his view on acquisitions:
From Reuters : "Newcrest Mining Ltd Chief Executive Sandeep Biswas said on Monday (25 Feb 2019) his company would pursue a potential acquisition only if it were the right value for investors, adding that he would prefer to buy assets rather than whole companies.
“We are happy to do M&A if it’s the right value for shareholders,” Biswas said at the BMO Global Metals & Mining Conference. “The entire focus in not on the size of ounces (in a potential deal). It’s on rate of return for our shareholders.”
https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mining-conference-newcrest/newcrest-ceo-says-happy-to-do-ma-if-right-value-for-shareholders-idUSKCN1QE2CN
To calculate if GGP provided a reasonable rate of return for shareholders NCM would require reasonable knowledge of the mineral resources in all of GGP's targets. That will not be available until all those targets are drilled.
My view is that a buyout of Havieron is more likely than a takeover of the whole of GGP, if it ever becomes a consideration.
GH interview on 26 Oct 20
https://www.sharebuyers.co.uk/shares/greatland-gold-shares-going-for-growth-deliver-tons-more-value/
"However, with Newcrest currently operating the drilling and early works at Havieron, we can now focus greater attention on other high-priority targets in areas such as Scallywag, where maiden drill results are soon to be announced."
GH gave the 6-8 week forecast for Scally drilling news on his interview on 19 Aug 20. The 6 weeks delay at the labs is added to that forecast so making it 12 -14 weeks from 19 Aug.
On that basis Scally drill results forecast between 12 - 26 Nov 20.
On 26 October GH said Scally results would be "soon" so I'm taking 12 - 26 Nov as soon.
I agree with you DM that GH is by a country mile the best CEO on AIM when it comes to looking after shareholders.
My point was that having given a timeline for results on what must be the most significant next step in the development of GGP as Tier 1 explorer a quick note to shareholders with an amended timeline would be very helpful.
That news was back in October so GH should have been aware of the backlog.
Did he included that potential delay in his 6-8 week estimation? looks like no.
Some of the conjecture on this board is that he has had the drill results and is withholding them for one or more reasons.
An alternative scenario is that the lab has not yet released or has only just released the results and he is putting together the RNS right now for issue in the next few days.
I agree that to have stated previously a 6 to 8 week time frame and not released anything to acknowledge the delay is poor management of shareholder expectations, and allows doubts and conspiracies to grow.
