Vaccines may be catching on
The race is on among the world’s big pharmaceuticals companies to develop the first coronavirus vaccine, but analysts expect the entire industry to get a shot in the arm from the outbreak.
Jefferies, the American broker, said that the pandemic had brought jabs into the mainstream consciousness, which it believes will “kick-start a new era for vaccines”.
“Covid-19 has introduced immunology to the masses and heightened infectious disease awareness, with governments also reassessing preparedness and health economics of prevention,” Peter Welford, an pharmaceuticals analyst at Jefferies, said.
His team reckon that will encourage more people to get their injections. Of the 500 or so people the analysts spoke to, 60 per cent said that the pandemic had “made them more likely to get future vaccinations”.
Jefferies estimates the vaccine market was worth $36 billion last year and by 2025 will have ballooned to more than $50 billion.
That bodes well for vaccine makers, such as Sanofi, Merck, Pfizer and GlaxoSmithKline, which makes more than two million jabs every day, for flu to shingles.
Apex Rides hopes to take on Peloton, and it’s licensing music
Where there’s a startup that’s gone public in a big IPO, there’ll be fledgling rivals hoping to follow the same path and compete with it. Such is the case with fitness firm Peloton.
One of its latest rivals is called Apex Rides, with its own combination of a physical exercise bike, and digital workout classes available live or on-demand. The cost: £1,200 for the bike and a £30 monthly subscription for the accompanying service.
The interest from Music Ally’s perspective is that Apex Rides is already engaging in music licensing. It has signed a deal with B2B firm 7digital to use the latter’s “in-house licensing services to negotiate and finalise rights to millions of premium tracks”.
7digital will also be curating playlists for Apex Rides, and handling reporting to labels and publishers.

Poop tests stop COVID-19 outbreak at University of Arizona
By Jocelyn Kaiser Aug. 28, 2020 , 2:40 PM
By testing dorm wastewater for the coronavirus, the University of Arizona may have stomped out a potential outbreak before it could spread, The Washington Post reports.
Several countries and some U.S. universities have been checking sewage for RNA from SARS-CoV-2 in people’s poop, which can signal infections shortly before clinical cases and deaths appear.
In Arizona, wastewater from a student dormitory contained viral RNA just days after students—who had all tested negative for COVID-19—moved into their rooms this month. The university retested all 311 residents and dorm workers and found two students who were asymptomatic but positive for the virus; they were then quarantined, officials explained in a press conference. “If we had waited until they became symptomatic and they stayed in that dorm for days, or a week, or the whole incubation period, how many other people would have been infected?” said former U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona, now a faculty member at the university.
That suggests sewage testing “is a very good early warning system,” environmental health scientist Kevin Thomas of the University of Queensland, St. Lucia, told The Washington Post.

Indication of Significant Debt Financing Capacity to Support Development of Khemisset Potash Project
Emmerson Plc ("Emmerson" or "the Company"), which is focused on developing the low cost, high margin Khemisset Potash Project ("Khemisset" or "the Project"), is pleased to announce it has received a formal indication of significant debt financing for Khemisset from a major European commercial bank. The indicative sizing shows debt capacity of up to US$230 million would be feasible assuming standard project finance terms and conditions. It is expected the syndicate will comprise of commercial banks and Export Credit Agencies.
Hayden Locke, CEO of Emmerson, commented: "To be approached by a major commercial bank with an early indication of debt financing capacity of such significant size, despite using very low potash price assumptions, is a huge endorsement of the economic strength of the Project.
Hercule Poirot :-)
Previously EML granted directors options in June 2018 in conjuction of the re-admission of EML to the LSE.
At that time all the options were granted with an exercise price of 3p.
"On 4 June 2018 and in conjunction with the business combination, the Placing and Re-Admission of theCompany to the London Stock Exchange, the Company granted the following share options all with an exercise price of 3 penceand a maximum life of five years from the date they were issued. The options vest in four equal portions on the date of grant, andon the 6, 12 and 18 month anniversaries."
This seems to support the notion that the ones issued today will be largely (except for some allocated to GC) have an exercise price of 5p, 6p , 7p and 10p.
He says hopefully. :-)
They just sold the options @ 24p that they exercised a few days ago @ 12p

June 15th - final results were issued.
Many of the trades denoted as Sells were actually buys below the mid price.
Similarily early doors some trades denoted as Buys may have been Sells.
In short , on occasions the only way to know if some trades are buys or sells at a particular time is to do a dummy trade ( buy or Sell) to see what price is offered.
Exactly - they don't want to give 24 people an initial dose of a vaccine at the same time.
If there are serious issues with the vaccine they'd rather find out when only a few had taken it.
They can then see the outcomes with different people at different time intervals etc.
