I think it is about time some of us, including me, should apologise for the insulting remarks we made about Justnotworthit when he warned us that Mks shares would hurtle downwards to less than £1, because they fell to about 95p on Friday, So perhaps Justnotworthit is not quite the idiot most of us thought he was.
Carrington: Thanks for the explanation.
To CARRINGTON: Perhaps I'm a dimwit, but what does gla dyor etc mean?
GOUPPLEASE: If you bought 5K you must be feeling very confident that you will make a substantial profit.
My message AND SO SAY ALL OF US was meant for Trunky.
AND SO SAY ALL OF US.
nodinero: Very sensible post. How can M &S, at a time when most people are more concerned than ever about food prices, compete with Lidl, Aldi, Iceland etc., for their weekly shop?
Could it be that Justnotworthit's warning not to buy M & S or ITV, which most of us dismissed as being stupid advice, may have been correct after all? Both of them have certainly hurtled downwards recently.
Jimjam: The schoolboy is missing because he has to stand in the dunce's corner because of his atrocious comment about the demise of M & S. if I remember correctly he also forecast the demise of ITV, which, although it can be said to be dragging its feet to some extent, is certainly showing no signs of fulfilling Justfornothing's forecast that, along with M & S, it would bite the dust.
Pokerchips: My apologies, but my recent message regarding my "new account" should have been sent to Edtheeeuph. However, I can tell you I will not sell any of the M & S shares I bought, in the hope that Justnotworthit is completely wrong.
Pokerchips: I don't have a new account. Just the original one in which I followed the majority view that Justnotworthit was a pessimist who had no idea. All I am saying is that if his forecast is proved to be correct then the majority of us will have lost heavily because we failed to take any notice of his constant warnings. Having said that, I really hope the majority view prevails.
Pollack: You are certainly not the only one on this chat who is "way out of pocket" because of the way Marks and Spencer's share price is falling. Perhaps we should have paid more attention to what Justnotworthit had to say, instead of dismissing his comments as the ramblings of the "village idiot."
Pollack:Perhaps we were all in shock, having a blue day. About time too.
Neil, What's Arsenal losing got to do with Marks & Spencer?
Despite all the insulting remarks you have received from members of this forum who have instantly dismissed all your warnings about Marks and Spencer (myself included), it now seems likely, by the way the share price is hurtling downwards, that your warnings should not have been ignored so ignorantly and hastily as the ramblings of a senseless pessimist who has refused to follow the view of the majority. You also foretold the demise of ITV, which is also spiralling downwards. Having said that, I still feel that repercussions from the Russian attack on Ukraine has been the major cause of the M & S share price collapse.
It is not holding steady today. Justnotworthit, the one most of us thought was an idiot, must be delighted at how M&S shares are dropping rapidly, just as he said they would.
To Justnotworthit: if your forecast that Mks shares shortly drop to below 100p then the critics (including myself) who wrote off what you said as being absolutely stupid will all have egg on their faces because you have stuck to your guns and your "stupid" comments will have proved to be correct. One thing I will say in your favour is that you have repeatedly warned us all that we should get rid of any shares we have. The idea some of us have that we should carry on buying the shares while they are tumbling downwards is, in my opinion, ludicrous. I sold some of mine several weeks ago at a loss, but if the shares begin to surge upwards again I will still make a slight profit if I can sell them for considerably more than I gave for them. You have had to put up with loads of stick and insulting remarks from the so-called "wise men" on this share chat, although I still believe that Russia's attack on Ukraine, which none of us could have foreseen, has caused most of the problems, not only for M&S but also for many other so-called "wise" investments. Having said that, of course, I still hope that your depressing forecast proves to be wrong.
Neilhumphreys: Can you really afford to buy half a million?
Carrington: I am not a trader, nor a very serious invester, but when I bought M&S shares I considered them to be a great investment. I certainly won't be panicking and selling the shares I have bought, but, though it may be temporary, if the price shortly drops to below 100 we will all have to hold our hands up and admit that Justnotworthit was not really the idiot we all thought he was, and that he got it right.
The way things are going with Marks and Spencer this week it seems that, despite being criticised by many of us {including me}, Justnotworthit may be right after all with his forecast that M&S share price will shortly be less than 100. It seems that many of us may have to wipe the egg off our faces and work out how much we have lost by deciding that his advice was utterly ludicrous.
