RE: Bloody turmoil....16 Aug 2020 16:53
It bloody well is and and those who think we will just bounce out of this are very much mistaken . I think we are in the denial stage and come Oct/Nov things will start to get really messy. Look at the construction company's, why have they not taken off like normal in this situation, even though Boris has said we're going to build our way out of this mess. Well what is he going to build , new factory's to kick start the economy, invest in our steel industry so we don't have to import cheep nasty Chines crap. Make are own wind turbines from scratch instead of importing , get farming into the 21st century so we are more productive. No he will build more houses schools and hospitals to get votes. The glory times of EU citisans coming to the uk to live and work are over, that influx propelled our housing market to new highs as squalid rented accommodation in City's were rented our by unscrupulous landlords at over inflated prices. This pushed up prices right along the property ladder, who will be the new first time buyers when the vast majority of young people who have work are on minimum wage. As you rightly say, who is going to open new business, what are the implications if your work force contract Covid and suffer health issues. Nobody in there right mind is going to take those huge risks , never mind the impending recession . What i still don't understand is who will foot the bill of the bus drivers/health workers/other front line workers who have suffered long term health issues or death after being ordered to go to work or loose there job. And all this for a pandemic that has mainly killed people with underlying medical conditions , who lets face it are only alive due to medical science. How now to get this economy kick started .
