Sorry to hear that that’s pretty brutal guys, have a look on MATD, similar thing happened to me on there last year but we have 75% appraisal this year, might interest you to make up some of the losses

Guess bottom line is that you can get surprise placings on any AIM company on some more and some less likely. I can’t see MATD doing another placing before they at least drill Heron and if you are worried about your exposure, just play it safe, don’t be greedy and leave some ammunition available just in case

Btw imotakeapunt I don’t agree that only time to do presentations in London is for placings, all last year interviews and presentations were done after the placings....

Well the last year surprise placing at 10p was a great idea with hindsight otherwise we would not be in as good position in 2019, I think it would be madness to do another one with only 2 out of 6 wells done,no hit yet and this low SP. This is AIM and anything is possible so suit yourself guys but I will definitely try to top up next week because we have loads of cash and if you check out mcap against BPC,JOG or 88e with its endless placings and no results then you realise this is cheap as chips with our first 25mmbo drill that is as sure as it gets in O&G...If we have hit on Heron and sp goes up then placing may happen but until then just load up;)

Also in the interview with Proactive investors MB said they aim to spud first well in April, although he would like to drill "as soon as the weather allows" so I would stick with that for the time being

hmm also the CSR teams have been sent to the drilling locations, don't think they would send them already if they wanted to drill in June....

We are still targeting a second quarter 2019 spud in Block XX and the exact timing depends upon finalising the drilling contracts and the speed with which the drilling contractors can source key materials and mobilise - assume they will finish the contracts by end of March, the rig is ony 20km away so the mobilisation should not take long, key materials as what ?

hmm perhaps you are right after last year anything is possible, although in Jan interview MB said the aim is to start drilling as soon as the weather permits and they do have the two rigs already with all the permits too and quite close to the drill site so you would assume that April spud is possible, but I do agree that "still aiming to drill in Q2" stinks

guess its normal on AIM to be down on good news but just wondering why, maybe because instead of April/May spud they quoted Q2, which might have spooked few investors but overall the volume is low too, really strange on such a good RNS, either way we have both rigs inspected and almost good to go so I don't see why we should not spud end of April/early May

your opinion on weather is fair enough they can't possibly drill in these conditions, however some operational update is due for sure

Just Heron is worth $80 mil to MATD so you would expect 10p minimum + it was our last placing price so very conservative target
