Did I buy RR? Sadly no. If I did, I would have more than recouped my losses in FRR and had money to finally enjoy my retirement. Instead, I jumped into a distressed Russian stock following the outbreak of the war. Same story as here, the stock is no longer trading and my money seems lost. Who says lightning never strikes twice? Some people never learn 😒.

EVRAZ plc (the “Company”) informs that on July 22, 2025, the Arbitration Court of the Moscow Region decided to suspend EVRAZ plc’s corporate rights in respect of EVRAZ NTMK under the Law No. 470-FZ dd August 04, 2023 on Economically Significant Organizations (the “ESO law”). This decision is subject to immediate execution.

In light of this, EVRAZ plc shareholders can (or, for Russian residents, must) directly own shares in EVRAZ NTMK, following the rules set by the ESO law. EVRAZ plc plans to appeal this decision.

I think from memory, Phil who used to run the Telegram group said between $5 and $7 a share, divided up between western shareholders. I believe he said there are around 400 million shares in western hands, so that values North American businesses at around $2 Billion. Some on Telegram argued against this, saying they have a lot of debt and aren't very profitable. With Trumps tariffs, all that may change.

I was in the Evraz Telegram group a while back and the guy that ran it seemed very knowledgable on EVR, knew far more than me anyway. He said if the North American assets were distributed to Western shareholders only, they would be valued at $5 to $7?

On reflection, should have taken Andree's offer.
