pricing and profit28 Apr 2016 17:55
I must admit I have been doing a lot of 'beer mat' maths myself and cant make it work, if you look at a leisure site for example say £1.50 a bottle, 30p is vat, suggest buy @ 50p that leaves 70p profit, from margin point of view that's high however, those machines must cost best part of £2,000 each ? (again bit of a guess), so nearly 3000 drinks just to cover machine cost, plus cost of person to fill the machine, (van etc) collect and count the money - and hope that no one vandalises machines, there must be a service engineer required, snack machines must be a worse formula as low margins and perishable goods, Selecta use this model and lost millions, maybe and hopefully Snacktime will choose sites very carefully
