Thomas Hartcup welcome
I'd like to think this BB encourages all newbies. After all it benefits as a whole. It is in my opinion the BB out there.
Kevin has given you a good brief summary.
Maybe some more learned posters can fill you in. So ask if you have any concerns. Sleepless nights not good. i think we have been through that.
Ggp could be your answer but dyor and then commit

Speedy you are a much more experienced PI than myself. And I never give trading advice.
But you don't strike me as being risk averse. This is Aim after all
Would it not be prudent to wait till 30th..or is that paradoxical to your intent?

Aim is and never been for those who are risk averse.
However you all know that with the bigger risk comes the bigger rewards..simple.
The advantage as I see it here in GGP is that , that Aim risk has been substantially reduced now.
I have been here since 2015. I experienced the Newmount fiasco with EG and suffered the torment of many a rollercoaster. Not being a trader(terrible at it) I couldn't take advantage . I just carried on adding on the dips slowly slowly. Still a little risky at that time. But the potential kept on luring me in. I remember getting back over 2p was momentous.
However I have 3 derisking factors of my own. (These do not include the obvious fundamentals of the company IE: the massive gold finds Hav poss Scally etc etc. I leave that to the experts like Paddy et al )
My derisking factors are a lot more simple:
- The JV with Newcrest. We now have a major $25 billion worth. They would do their due diligence before ploughing in $65m(max)
- GH himself. Proven pedigree. Transformed the company from his introduction. Genuine interest for the shareholders. Put his own money down recently in the Covid crash to spark us back up. That was exactly what was needed. We all know a Ceo can make a break a company. Plenty of examples of that. Works extremely well with CB. Inspiring leader. Respectful to the indigenous Martu people shows character by halting proceedings at Scally. Etc Etc
- Australia. A strong and SAFE jurisdiction. So not likely to be overtaken by some dictatorship etc
Prior to these I was apprehensive at times. But I'm not risk averse. I understand in order to make life changing money you have to take some risks. Its not that easy.
But now GGP has significantly derisked. Thats why the SP has accelerated and IMO will continue to do so. We are still undervalued I believe.
We now know whats around the corner with the Newcrest results...which have also almost certainly been derisked (paddysat etc)
Takeover is looming.... when that will be nobody really knows but certainly earlier than first anticipated.
How much for....again difficult to predict. I'll leave that for the more technical. Remember we have GH et al. We can trust him to maximise our value and broker the best deal possible. No doubt. And then we need to accept it once recommended.
Personally I believe there is still plenty of room for the SP to move up for those who wish to join. But please please you have to do your own due diligence. However there cannot be many BB better than this one.
So many learned people. There really are. (I'm not one of them by BTW). But I believe I'm a man of integrity.
I have the advantage of knowing most of the LTH here and I believe we have all had this vision for a long time. Before it was wishful but now it seems a lot more tangible. We were fortunate to catch this early. Probably once in a lifetime opportunity.
I wish you ALL the best in your investments esp in these unparallel crazy times
Lets not be too hard on this guy
Better just to filter discreetly
Lets keep our dignity and show some respect to all. No matter how frustrating it can be.
Its tough out there for everyone. Life is just not the same.

For the more learned of you .
Please can you enlighten me as to when you think the big IIs will join the party?
If at all?
I believe they will be the ones who would provide the real impetus to drive this quickly into double digits
Or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance

Morning Gents
By the looks of it a busy board yesterday.
Exiting ggp was always going to be a dilemma. I was hoping that a T/O would take that out of my hands. Thus leaving no regret either way.
However this now has become contentious in itself.
Never mind Beetham or anyother poster. One has to do whats right for oneself and family. In what is now unparallel crazy times. We are all different and have differing circumstances, expectations, lifestyles, commitments, families etc etc. But our common goal is to make some money to better our lives.
Its not Beetham that will persuade me to reject a speculative low bid. It would be the 5 years invested here plus all the positive 'knowns' of ggp now that were unknown a while back. But one can use the momentum of others if its in your direction. No need to alienate or slander. Be wary but be positive if it falls along your pathway.
What will influence my decision to reject or accept any T/O bid is GH and the board. We have to trust our ceo to put forward an acceptable bid. There has been no reason so far not to do so. Quite the contrary. GH has shown regularly his commitment to ggp and the shareholders.
The ceo often makes or breaks the company. We have seen that all too often. If the BOD come with a bid urging us to accept than I will be doing so irrespective of the amount.
There are probably many variables unbeknown to us. They would have a bigger better picture. Going against that may not be prudent in the long term.
Lets have faith in our BOD. Lets see what happens.
Wish you ALL best of luck in your exit strategy whatever that may be.

PS Hoping for another good day
I didn't want to comment late last night
It did look a little suspicious...not least the spelling. Plus rather convenient timing etc
I reserve judgement
Chilling today. Too many posts from me yesterday
Catch up Monday morning
