Enjoyed the Scancell ride over the last few months.
Was really surprised at this mornings RNS!
On reflection is a Massive endorsement from Redmile Investment Group.
Am blown away!
I note it includes funds for Scancell’s SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.
All the best folks x
Good news today. Great to see that the potential of Moditope that helped to take this share to its highest SP (when it was still a ‘serendipitous’ discovery) is beginning to be realised and about to go into trial!
Interesting indeed that when it was much more theoretical the SP was 40p plus. Mad mad world...
Why an effective vaccine that is readily available to all could be so important, wherever it comes from
Sobering read..

3 other things..
Effective vaccines do not grow on trees so ‘miles behind’ sounds like a bad choice of words to me. They are asking for funding to assist in the fight in this terrible pandemic not for other developments.
Is Martin Diggle and expert in immunology?
No date for second announcement. Wonder when it will be and if Scancell met the deadline which appears to be quite early on in the year really especially considering when lockdown was announced!

Great segment on Sky.
Lol, watched it via IM on my brothers computer as he’d recorded whilst he is in the US and me in UK. Gotta love tech!
Was sat down ready to watch at 7pm so missed it :(
Would be bonkers for gov to invest in only one or two COVID 19 vaccines!
Sounds like there are two funding rounds.
Anyone know when the second is?

Interesting article, and also I think it indicates the potential importance of an ‘effective & durable,’ vaccine which could support herd immunity.

Hi Wildforce :)
That’s an interestingly read thanks
Key things that jump out to me about what I’ve read about Scancell’s current activity is that;
They are collaborating with virologists
These virologists are reported to have Already discovered some parts of the covid-19 virus that could create an immune response and make up part of a DNA vaccine.
Scancell are going to use their, Already developed, patented and trialled (in a cancer setting) high avidity T cell and neutralising response technology to work towards creating an, ‘effective and durable’ vaccine...’
Scancell’s, ‘ similar DNA vaccine has already been shown to be safe and effective in cancer patients and so should rapidly translate into the clinic for prevention of COVID-19.’
These are my humble interpretations.

Hi to those I know. Hope you and your families are all safe and well.
Was really pleased to read this mornings RNS
As some of you may know, in recent years the UK has started vaccinating the over 65s with a different flu vaccine to generate more potent immune responses due to how their immune systems react to the standard flu vaccine.
Based on Mubarak understanding; Given those who are potentially more vulnerable to covid 19 (eg the over 70’s) could potentially not develop the same immunity from a vaccine compared to others, Scancells approach seems very sensible, as this is the group that is likely to need an effective vaccine the most.
I sincerely hope that they are successful
Best wishes
Morning ??
Yes I heard CF report they had answered FDA ques in proactive interview. If you blinked you’d miss it though.
Re cash burn can’t inagine the new members of our team would have moved to a company with no long term plan.
It’s a long waiting game at the moment. GLA
Sorry if that’s how I come accross.
I don’t post much due to my other commitments. Work, uni, family etc. I just don’t have time so am massively grateful for all the informative posting on here otherwise I would really struggle to keep up to date.
I just happen to have a free morning for a change.
I was referring in the main to posts about the proposed negative impact of the competition results on the sp.
Am guessing that when I post my frustration of years of reading posts that go beyond sensible debate is evident.
I’ll try and post my thanks and appreciation for posters that to add something to the picture more often :)
PS Boom you are much missed on here!
Looking at bigger picture
The fantastic achievement of this challenge
Is it gets Teams from different companies/backgrounds to collaborate!
Who knows what seeds have been planted for all those teams?
This is how we will be beat cancer...by collaborating not by pure profiteering.
Oh for goodness sake
It was a competition we didn’t win
We did well to get shortlisted
The funding was not for the rest of Moditope
It’s now business as usual
You all have agendas! Lol
So much silliness on this bb as usual!
Been a long year as a shareholder. Still have faith in the IP and potential but am disappointed in lack of communication. I genuinely believe our UK system of drug development is very broken. Skin cancer took my mum within a year of diagnosis so I know first hand the devastation of this disease. Profits aside it should not take this long to get such a promising drug to larger trials and potentially patients. I can only imagine how the scientists feel Grrr :( :/
If memory serves me correctly Calculus have taken advantage of discounted shares at previous OO’s and sold on rises so not sure that I have much sympathy with their complaint. Either way we need money. If we sold ip rights to pharma our investment would still be diluted. I think Scancell just know what they’ve got in their ip and haven’t been offered a fair reflection of that yet.
