Indeed. This is not an investment in a company with falling sales, moving into a loss. Instead, the company is Leap, Emmac, Juvensense, etc. The assets here are doing great. Just check the RNSs. Nobody wants to be underwater. However, I, for one, am ok waiting another few weeks. At worst we will have the new valuation in December.
BTW on this interview yesterday, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lwQNwcH7ec&t=1249s, Jim Mellon confirms they are working with Credit Swisse for the Jevenescense SPAC in a few months
Yes, Pirate. From the RNS it looks like a UK listing. This works, given the increasing awareness of medical cannabis in the UK and Europe. This would also mean that EMMAC will not be diluted by the Andina merger.
Barwickman, thank you for posting this. I read pretty much every link posted here. I am not under the misapprehension that these links will move the share price. However, they do help my understanding of any investment.
I thought that part was really encouraging, particularly the mention of numerous sports.
"Trade was also boosted by the agreement of new partnership deals between its BetMGM joint venture and numerous sports franchises such as the Detroit Lions American football team and sports tournaments like the PGA Tour and NASCAR."
Leap and IMG are strengthening their links. Who knows, perhaps IMG would want to take a majority shareholding at some point. I recall that they have 20 something percent at the moment, and FFWD has 43%

It looks as though they are in the right market, with regulations providing barriers to entry.

I could not find the audio presentation though perhaps others here can find it. Nevertheless, the above document explains that EMMAC produced medical cannabis at only 0.32 Euros per gram, much lower than pretty much everyone else. The company is already present across Europe, having jumped the many bureaucratic hurdles. It is one of about 5 active licensed cultivators in Europe compared to 2000+ in the US. (Europe has double the population). Yes, there are several multi-billion mcap. producers in the US.
It is well worth looking through the above document to see these and other reasons why FFWDs 2.3% of EMMAC should equate for more than the total mcap of FFWD.
Hi Munchbox. Just out of interest where did you short a company with this size Mcap. I do not believe that is possible. Please advise.

This BBC podcast from a week ago is well worth listening to, to understand where UK medical cannabis is now and also the importance of today's announcement. EMMAC are in a great position to benefit from this untapped market

I think it was LEAP that most interested me, particularly seeing how it would benefit from the lockdown. I am hoping there will be an update on this soon, especially as we were told in June that they will move into profit in Q3.
EMMAC was not of much interest to me, though this changed after listening to the investors' presentation some weeks ago. I do now see they may well be a billion-pound company. This seemed absurd to me when I first read that on here. However, given that they are the biggest company in Europe and there are several multi-billion pound companies in North America, this seems very reasonable.
I also think VEMO Education will grow a lot. They doubled the number of clients this year, and student debt is a huge issue in the US. It is a massive market for them.
I have always shied away from biotech as I lack a real understanding, so I am happy to see what portage and Jevensense bring, but have not really looked into them.
At the end of the day what I like here is that there are several investments here that can be more than the present Mcap. And it looks like more than one will reach their potential. This gives me a good sense of security. I make a point of not ramping any share that I am in. However, 30p seems very realistic price. I know many others would see this as being too low.
I was in MBO for several years, like Seav1ew, and noted he was also here. I thought last year, looking at FFWDs investments, that FFWD was more attractive than MBO, however, was/is extremely illiquid, and I had about 1% of it. So, when MBO exploded a few months ago, I did very well and took out most of what I had there. I am now committed here. I am not concerned about the drops of the last few weeks and do trust that Ed and his team will achieve much of what they hope to. I expect things to move our way with news before the end of the year, but I am happy to wait.
I am too trusting. Somebody sold, and I just read the words. I clearly have not been here long enough. I hope you make money here, along with the rest of us.
Hi Matador. I have just been here a few months, but I am grateful for a lot of the information you have shared on this board. I hope you do well wherever you decide to put your money. All the best
Thank you. At least the number of real buys is something positive to be taken from today.
I see that the 8.8p trades are also buys. At least that is what I am offered now. I have never really understood why these are often incorrect.

Hi Barwickman. Yes, It would be a shame for anyone to see here panicked by the word placing. I am certainly not a ramper. However, I definitely expect a rerating once the December results are out, showing a significantly higher NAV for the period to the end of Sept. However, I would be disappointed not to see this higher before those results on the back of a few pieces of positive news. GLA
Remember that this is not a typical placing of a company looking for cash to keep it afloat. The 2m raised is simply used to invest in other opportunities.
