On Countryfile today.BBC1 "A growing global population and a changing climate mean that farmers of the future will have to produce more food, in tougher conditions. It is hoped the world of scientific research can help and this week Tom Heap heads to the National Institute of Agricultural Botany in Cambridge for an exclusive first look at a major British breakthrough in the production of synthetic wheat." The National Institute of Agricultural Botany have produced a seed which gives 30% more wheat than previously. In 50 years there will not be enough wheat to feed 9 billion people,so they are hoping that their new seed will go along way towards meeting that need. What they have failed to mention is if a plant will produce 30% more wheat, then obviously it will take out of the soil more nutriments and that will have to be replaced by more fertilisers. So,any company producing fertilisers such as SKR should benefit from this new technology. The problem is the new seed will not be available to farmers for 5 years. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01skm8b

Runner-Don/t think it will drop below 8.5p late Friday. It's more likely to go up as holders will want to be on board ready for Halyk update or any other news after the Victory week celebrations in Kaz. Everone in Kaz should be on a high after all the celebrations most of this week and it may reflect on SKR. Beanpole-good luck with your last purchase. This is a coincidence-I asked Runner if he grew good runners beans the other day.He is Runner and you are Beanpole.lol
El.Bandido Looks that way for next week, unless she works late tonight as it is 7.27pm in Almaty now. She could still be waiting for clarification from SKR.
Bet you grow sme good runner beans as well -lol It looks like Halyk may report either today or Wednesady as the rest of the week are state holidays.
Thanks to Stevedawn on ADVF* who received this today. Thank you for your interest in our research. We plan to publish an update on Sunkar Resources next week.
Sunkar Resources shares jump after signing a new earth moving contract Mariyam Zhumadil — May 04, 2013 PDF version Yesterday, shares of Sunkar Resources surged by 16% after the company reported that its Kazakh subsidiary signed a new earth moving contract with the contractor building the Beineu-Tassai railway line. The total value of the contract is estimated at $12mn, and the contract should be completed before November 2013. The company will receive a 30% prepayment within twenty business days from the contract date. Additionally, Sunkar reports that it has completed 65% of the work under the first earth moving contract and that it expects to complete most of the works by the end of June 2013. Our view. The announcement is positive for the company. The new earth moving contract would allow the company to cover the cash shortfall this year, as its phosphate rock production continues to generate negative EBITDA due to insufficient sales volumes. Our recommendation on the stock is under review currently.
http://www.stockmarketwire.com/article/4588806/Mining-Sector-Sunkar-shares-jump-after-unit-wins-Kazakhstan-earth-moving-contract.html Hopefully there will be some more over the weekend. What is good about today's news is that it was unexpected and just shows that the BOD are on the lookout for any opportunity to acheive income. Also, note that the sp did not fall back as heavily as the 2 previous RNS's. I don't think that this news was what Halyk were waiting for from SKR as they were wanting clarification of something so when they get it and combine it with the new earth moving contract, they should really increase the sp forecast. Kase are open Sat and Mon,so hopefully Halyk are also open to give their update.
Great news The Company expects to receive a pre-payment, amounting to 30% of the total contract value, within 20 business days from the contract date. Don't forget that SKR will also receive the remaining 70% payment from the 1st contract which they should receive at the end of Q2.

http://www.kase.kz/en/news/show/1190680 It took 4 days for KASE to be updated. Let's hope that investors in Kaz. will take note and start buying. There have been no trades so far up to today.
in 28 mins. of over 200k in shares traded. It has already spiked up the sp so lets hope that there is more to come.
http://www.halykfinance.kz/en/site/index/research/er:77223 Note it is not the analyst sp report-just a news item. Halyk are awaiting further clarification from SKR to finalise the report.

April 25 | Thu Apr 25, 2013 7:45am EDT (Reuters) - Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan , the world's largest producer of its namesake crop nutrient by capacity, said it is abandoning efforts to take over Israel Chemicals Ltd, after running into opposition in that country. Potash currently holds a 14 percent stake in ICL, the world's sixth-largest potash producer. "While we continue to believe that such a transaction would be of tremendous benefit to stakeholders of both companies and the State of Israel, there must be receptivity to foreign investment and certainty in the rules that govern such investment," the company said on Thursday in its first-quarter earnings statement. "We have therefore concluded that now is not the time to pursue this opportunity and will focus our energies on other options to maximize shareholder value."
Why isn't SKR recognised in the phosphate sector with great potential above some others. Arianne Resources is a good example for comparisons with SKR. Link-http://potashinvestingnews.com/7416-project-update-arianne-phosphate-triples-measured-and-indicated-resources-at-paul-zone.html SKR comparisons are in brackets. AR deposits 590.24 million metric tons (over 800 mmt) AR quality 7to13-percent P2O5 ( 10% P2O5 ) AR infrastructure in place (so is SKR) AR extraction costs higher than SKR (SKR has lowest extraction costs due to shallowness of deposits) AR has proximity to Canadian markets (SKR is well situated for Asian and Russian markets) AR released details of drill results after 3 months(SKR drilling program has been completed-as at 28/2/2013 possibly earlier) Therfore we must now be getting close to the release of the full drill results and this hopefully could be the catalyst that Halyk are waiting for to announce their report.
on Phosphates Potash's poor cousin, phosphate, offers rich opportunities "Given the few juniors and the scarcity value of phosphate deposits outside of Morocco, investors should expect further acquisitions. “We will see more takeouts, for sure,” comments Mr. Churchill." http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/potashs-poor-cousin-phosphate-offers-rich
Sorry to say there have not been any trades since listing and I check everyday. http://www.kase.kz/en/shares/show/GB_SKRS This explanation might help why there have been no trades so far. "There are 3 listing categories for shares at KASE, and each of them has different listing requirements (the 1st and the 2nd categories have higher requirements than the 3rd). If companies’ shares are in a higher category it means there is more opportunity that they can be bought by local pension funds or banks, because according to our legislations there are some restrictions for them. Hereby the benefit can be from wide range of investors at the market, who can buy shares and support the demand on them. In addition shares in 3rd category usually are not traded actively because there is no requirement to have a market-maker as it is required for shares of the 1st and the 2nd categories. Market-maker undertakes responsibility to regularly announce and support securities quotations. "
