Desert Mountain Energy vis-à-vis Helix6 Oct 2025 22:01
Desert Mountain is a helium explorer which had a great buzz four years ago. In 2021 it peaked in the CAD 4-5 range but since mid 2023 has dawdled along around CAD 0.35. Now the thing is, although it isn't doing much, two directors have, at intervals, been buying shares back in amounts like 20,000 or 40,000 a time at the new low price. Other investors have presumably given up. So the directors will be able to increase their holdings and maybe one day, make something of the company when it suits them. The 2021 price will have given them the capital to develop the business with the money of now disappointed investors and they can wait until it suits them to start hauling in real returns. Is there a template here for how to string the market along? Am I being cynical?
