The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
If the proposed deal is approved and the company is sold, what actually happens to the shares held in our accounts? Do those shares automatically get replaced with equivalent cash?
Not sure if I should be holding on to them until the bitter end or thinking about selling up sooner...
Main reason I didn't bother is I knew (from my many many years experience as a Tlou shareholder) that theres a very high chance that I'll be able to buy cheaper on the open market soon after the offer anyway.
I still have faith in thie company, but not enough to just keep chucking money at fund raises. We need some positive news now before I'll put my hand back in my pockets.
Nice to see this above a fiver again. Hope the trend continues.
Thanks folks. Just had a bit of a heart-stopper when I saw the big 0% earlier. Still showing as 0% for me even now, but I guess if you can trade, its just a glitch.
Has this share been suspended while being investigated? Just logged onto my II account and TLOU is showing as zero value.
Not seeing anything about that in the RNS though...unless I missed something?
Looks like Mr Market really wants this sub £5!
Its a proper roller coaster this share...!
Question; what platform do people use to view share prices on Nasdaq, seeing as lse.co.uk only shows uk stocks.
Thanks
I assume this price drop is mainly due to people selling because they don't want or an unable to hold US securities? Doesn't seem to me like a reason for a 10-12% fall otherwise...
I hold a chunk of these from 1.7p and took my eye off the ball a bit and didn't sell at the highs. Still in profit, but wandering whether this is the bottom or if we'll fall further. Not sure what near term drivers there are likely to be to drive this upwards again though...
@Bananaman2 your post mirrors pretty much exactly my story too...
I usually don't slate companies because I figure if you can't say anything nice, just don't say anything, but in this case I really think this company is a total joke. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this was some kind of insurance scam to try and claw back some losses...
I do also hope things improve for holders, but at this point I really don't see how thats likely to happen.
Not sure if the link will work (sometimes they get removed) so if it doesn't work, just google "dividend tax"

MM, I've been holding here since around 2016 (Been that long I've lost track) so I'm not going to "go away". Trust me, I want to believe that this will suddenly turn around, but having been kicked in the face by this share more times than I care to remember, I'm simply pointing out to other investors that what you said was taken out of context.
I think you're reply to me was pretty rude and I'm not going to continue this thread.

MM, your post is somewhat out of context. The full text reads as follows:
Tlou's Managing Director, Mr Tony Gilby commented, "We already have a great relationship with this group and look forward to working closely with them to get the process concluded successfully and as soon as possible. This is an outstanding project and with the right partners we believe it can be an overwhelming success both for Botswana and our shareholders."
"Can be" not "Is" an overwhelming success
I'm not saying this won't be an overwhelming success, but please don't try to spin the information. Its misleading.

I think that everybody needs to make their own decisions here. Its unfair for people to accuse anyone of pannicing because (in my case at least) this RNS confirms that the company has nothing positive to report at this time and also really has no major news in the pipeline that could push it upwards.
I bought in on the "potential" of the company back in August last year, and have made several more purchases since as I believed in what they were saying. But gradually I have come to the realisation that the promises are not being kept and the sales are simply not materialising. Yes of course they could land a big contract tomorrow and yes they could announce some positive news about the Paragraph JV...but in all honesty I don't see that being enough to cause a major reversal from this level. We'd need 2 or 3 SAF-like deals to do that in my view. If they had any major deals in the pipeline I suspect they'd be tweeting like mad about it, but even the tweets have fallen a little short lately.
I truely hope that things turn around but at the moment I've taken the decision to sell up and crystalise a pretty big loss. I'll keep an eye on things here and if things start to brighten up I may be back. Good luck to all who remain invested here.
Wow...now thats a bad update. Really bleak! The last paragraph basically says that they are pinning their hopes on mass vaccination saving them...which lets face it, it not going to happen overnight.
I'm going to cut my losses here now (50% down) and call it a day for the time being. I still think the company will do well, but I am not sure how soon that might be.
Just for clarity, I spoke with RR a few weeks ago about the finacial position. He told me that after the placing costs and the loan repayment they had about £2.5m left in the bank. Burn rate is somewhere in the region of £100K per month, so by my reconing thats a good 20-25 months of operating finance, without taking into account sales that they'll be making between now and then. So yes they are indeed fully funded for quite a while.
Although the recent news has not been great, I think this company has the potential to do very well. Just need to have patience. Also I'm keen to hear more about the Paragraph JV...would love to get more info on how that's been going.
I personally don't think they'll be at breakeven for the year. Not enough notifiable sales have been announced for that to be the case. To be fair it was a pretty ambitious goal.
However if they can at least be at break even on a monthly basis (i.e. sales in December are higher than monthly burn rate) then I will be reasonably happy with that. At the end of the day we have to remember that this is a young company thats only just started selling. So long as the sales keep building then ultimately this will be a good investment.
Also I'm really looking forward to the Graphene JV announcement. If thats going well, then I think that will be transformational for this company.
Hi.
Just wandering if anyone has spoken to or emailed RR recently? I emailed him earlier this week to ask about progress and how far off break even he thinks we might be by year end, but so far not heard back. In the past he's always either replied or even called me back. Was just curious to know if anyone has recently spoken to him and whether they have given any more of an update on progress?
Cheers
Been away for a week and just catching up here. Slightly disappointing to see the price has dropped since I was last here but on the other hand I think the fact that the placing @ 8p was oversubscribed shows very strong confidence in the company. Glad to see that we now have plenty of funding to carry us over to the new year and beyond. I've taken another chunk today as I also feel very confident for the future.
