I think the only people who can decide if they were required now are Scancell themselves. I just get a strong feeling that the extra costs involved have been taken on with the knowledge that funding of some description that funding them will be covered in the short to medium term. Amazes me the workload and responsibility that Lindy has carried for so long and she knows what her priorities are, with the knowledge that the new members of staff are very experienced, can take responsibility from day one and i think we all know how difficult it is to find the right people, and with their CVs I trust her fully in decisions. The reason i topped up was i believe the appointments have been made with knowledge as to what will bring in an income and we were told it seems a long time agothat we wouldbe expanding staffing levels in key positions.
I am hoping soon we get the IND and get the SCIB1 trial finally underway which will become our main focus and offer inflection points that for so long we have missed. It seems and is so long since we have had a trial underway and i think we all agree one of the biggest drivers of the SP will be great data, whilst whatever else is prioritised is brought to a position of ready for trial. In that respect i think we are getting our house in order and have concluded the extra positions are not just needed but are being filled by exceptional candidates, and i feel more than impressed that we can employ somebody from the Immunacore stable to take on a new challenge. They must feel confidant of us,and certainly know more than us as to what is priority.
Been a funny old week, I underestimated how disappointed as shareholders we would be in not lifting the top prize, but again that could never have formed part of our budget to start with IMHO. I said a few times victory was getting to the final, and if we win/lose collaborations will contine and to have had this time working with potential partnerswas a perfect way of taking the relationships further. I also felt we would never get deal news till after GC in a time knowing what cashflow will be needed. I am sure we are much the wiser for the project as indeed all team members will be from working with Lindy, and even in previous appointments the value of their input is undoubted.
Wigwammer was surprised you said that the staff were not needed, again only Scancell alone can decide that, but you did say "stand to be corrected". As an aside i was really hoping to see us not fall below 7.50 on the bid, and as of 16.40 no 100k sells were posted, a good way to enter next week, the GC becoming a distant memory.
Fully expecting news in the next couple of weeks, lets face it there is so much we don"t know it gets harder to make calls, just taking on feelings from the signs we can see, which is why there is so much speculation. Feeling good now, LD must too, lets start the climb back to the 20s and the IND will go a long way in doing that.
