Connections all around Scancell are gathering apace. I expect a share option package awaits her. And after another positive RNS, we are down on the week significantly.

How good to see, at last we are being talked about along with our peers, and it was the appointments, the relationships and just a feeling we might get news soon that convinced me to buy yesterday. A welcome sight indeed...............

Samantha Paston has ended her long association with Immunocore to take up the head of research position at Scancell. Paston’s appointment is part of a broader effort by Scancell to add experience as it steps up its immunotherapy development activities.

Scancell is developing anticancer candidates based on two immunotherapy platforms, ImmunoBody and Moditope. The pipeline of ImmunoBody vaccines, led by clinical-phase NY-ESO-1 asset SCIB1, has advanced furthest, but the other platform has attracted attention and a T-cell receptor (TCR) deal with BioNTech.

With Scancell gearing up for trials and stepping up its TCR activities, the British biotech has added Paston to its team. Paston joined Avidex, the company that became Immunocore via an acquisition and spinout, straight after earning her doctorate in 2006 and stayed on throughout the early changes and more recent upheavals.

The upshot is that Paston has worked at Immunocore since it was founded in 2008. Having started out as a senior research scientist, Paston went on to lead the T cell cloning and cell biology groups during her 11 years at the TCR specialist. Paston will now apply this experience to the emerging range of R&D tasks facing Scancell.

"Samantha will be invaluable in immunological design of the upcoming trials and spearheading the new TCR therapeutics,” Lindy Durrant, Scancell’s founder and chief scientific officer, said in a statement. Paston will report directly to Durrant.

Scancell revealed news of Paston’s appointment alongside details of its new head of manufacturing. Adrian Parry, formerly head of small molecule CMC at Mereo BioPharma, has taken up the post, giving Scancell an employee with experience managing outsourced GMP production of clinical trial materials at a time when its manufacturing needs are growing.

It was only a couple of weeks ago we were discussing BioNTechs manufacturing supplier, which i commented i bet Lindy is on to that already, well she certainly was, and it does send a message that we have found a more competitive way of manufacturing vaccines in smaller doses for any number of trials. With those appointments in mind, talks between team members have been taking place for some time as we hoped, and we are certainly gearing up for trials which IMHO Scancell must have confidence in a commercial deal/s to underwtite the further costs to the company.

Ruck, really not interested in arguing, far more important things are going on in my life, but your 21.00, well that is four times you have used the words "upsets me". Regardless vof what Inanaco posts the reminders he sends out point to our possible value against our M/Cap. Any decent poster can make up there own minds as to whether it is fact or opinion. Your posts add balance to that, you make excellent points, again I decide what points at any time make me buy/sell, or look out for. I am grateful to you both. However, when you pick up on whatever words are used it IMHO becomes pointless and on almost every occasion in recent times everybody else stops posting, because it is pointless.

I apologise for mking the point, again, but it is not debate, it just turns into a war of words and very personal. This is a Scancell BB , not Ruck v Inanaco, every single day. It is the only reason I have gone 4/5 months without even looking at the other BB, talk about personal!!!! Who needs it? Anyway I can"t believe i have got to over 200k now, I said last Thursday i was thinking about buying around 8p, when it went sub 8p I decided the fall wasa bit steep. Will we fall more, possible, I was just happy to get sub 8p. Again though it was far from a personal attack, it just is the same every day, and TBH who wants to read that every day? As DA says the good stuff from both of you just gets lost, and my point is that is not a debate, we can all find something in any post to go on about. Will leave it to you guys, pretty sure we all get stressed at times, i am living on a time bomb and have for some time tried to shake off a reputation i earned and dislike intensely. Just looking in (Chelsea 2-0 up!!). Both of you make good points, but everyday it becomes a senseless battle, where you both get locked in a war of words, picking, picking. Sometimes with yesterdays dissappointment still hurting i think we forget the fundamentals we bought in to. And now we have Moditope.

We get to a final from 143 starters get to the finals, which was a victory, a big one but fail to get the top prize, and we fall 24%. Didn"t know we gained 24% entering it. ATVB. Keep punching

Exactly the reason I splurged a bit today, and believe me I do know what the standard of care is, in lung cancer at least. Because of the side effects i am omitted from Chemo, Radiotherapy or Surgery and as it stands am in a deadlock over it all. It was the side effects issue that brought me here, keeps me more than interested as it is very close to my heart and life.
