Reasons to be cheerful
Scancell has two promising vaccine platforms, ImmunoBody and Moditope, that have
the potential to treat many cancers, either as monotherapy or in combination with
checkpoint inhibitors. The leading ImmunoBody programme, SCIB1, is in a
combination Phase II study for metastatic melanoma. Moditope is also expected to
enter the clinic, with a Modi-1 Phase I/II trial expected to start during 2021. A third
platform, AvidiMab, antibodies that target glycans, can be highly specific to tumour
cells and has generated significant industry interest. The expertise in inducing potent
immune responses is now also being directed towards a potential COVID-19 vaccine.
We value Scancell, using a risk adjusted DCF model, at £72.4m, or 15.6p a share.

COVID 2nd generation vaccine opportunity is all upside
Scancell is initiating a collaborative research project that aims to use its oncology
vaccine expertise to develop a second generation COVID-19 vaccine. Its DNA vaccine
technologies target dendritic cells and have proven ability to stimulate high avidity
and potent T cell responses. The objective is to produce a simple, safe, cost-effective,
and scalable vaccine to induce both durable T cell responses and virus neutralising
antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Subject to funding, including non-dilutive grants
from governments, a candidate vaccine could enter Phase I trials in Q121. Scancell's
primary focus remains on developing its innovative immuno-therapies for cancer, as
detailed in our May 2020 Outlook. The early nature of the COVID-19 project means
that we currently do not include it in our £72.4m (15.6p/share) Scancell valuation.

Well of course it will be!!!

Trying to find a balance when you are reliant on Scientific advice, whilst making decisions that are least harmful to this country must be the hardest job any Prime Minister has had to deal with.

An unknown virus, one we cannot see, no idea how it will mutate, but the odds are stacked that they will, and putting in measures for what you don"t know!!?

IMHO the only waters being muddled are those that people with agendas want to. The lockdown is clearly not over, as BJ clearly said last night, I am sure manufacturing companies have now implemented safe social distancing and the choice has been given for those to return to work. The guidelines haven"t changed, "stay alert" is a simple reminder of that. We can sit in our gardens if we choose, those who exercise can within the rules, I just fail to understand what wasn"t clear about last nights address to the nation.

We should consider ourself lucky that unlike in Italy and many other poorer nations we are not being asked to resume back to ""normal life"" under these circumstances. I genuinly feel for the Italian people, they barely coped with the first wave, I just have a clear vision they are dicing with many peoples lives, ""time will tell"

I agree with that re being good for Scancells approach, but the scientists have always assumed the virus will mutate. This is not new news, why is TF presenting it as it is??

We are dealing with many unknowns here, a virus we cannot see, and now we are expected to make decisions on a mutation not only that we can"t see but hasn"t been identified yet!!!! Jeez........................
