Scancell To Start Clinical Trial For Cancer Treatment In 2021

(Alliance News) - Scancell Holdings PLC on Wednesday said it plans to begin a Phase 1/2 trial for its cancer treatment Modi-1 in the first half of 2021.

The cancer immunotherapy treatment firm said the study for Modi-1 will include patients with solid tumours such as triple negative breast cancer, ovarian cancer, renal cancer, and head and neck cancer.

Scancell noted successful completion of GMP drug substance manufacture for all three of the conjugates that make up the Modi-1 product, adding that technical challenges previously faced in relation to one of the peptide components have now been successfully resolved. This allows progression to GMP drug product manufacture and formulation of clinical supplies in the third quarter of 2020.

The trial announcement comes amid the company's publication of a peer-reviewed research paper in the Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer which described Modi-1’s ability to stimulate potent T cell responses that translate into tumour protection in melanoma and ovarian cancer models.

"These data further validate the unique mode of action, and long-term protection, of citrullinated Moditope peptides and their potential as novel immunotherapies for hard to treat cancers, particularly when conjugated with the AMPLIVANT adjuvant to boost the overall immune response," said Scancell Chief Scientific Officer Lindy Durrant.

The stock was trading 9.7% higher at 6.25 pence each on Wednesday afternoon in London, but 12% lower than at the start of the year.

It has been coming near a patient near "you" for a very long time now, it now needs to happen amogst talk of second waves and mutations, I think we can all work out why after so long we still do not have definitive timelines, hence fuelling peoples fears in many different ways.

Hi LL. that is the point really, I have my core holding here buying physical stock, I am moving away into CFDs etc, evenly balancing risk as much as we can ever do and discovering the avenue of share dealing that I knew so little about, but I am learning so much more about every day. It is just a very exciting field, the riks are high but the company support you to a high degree, which is what as beginners we all need. I certainly won"t be discusing another facet of trading here often, but really look forward to any advice from those more adept at me.

WTP, don"t knock it, it is something I am doing myself at the moment with commodities and shares.

These charts are to a certain degree self fulfilling, in as much as the more people that follow the patterns and trends hence the buying or selling pressure only intensifies.

Looking forward to the end of half year report H1 2020 too, so difficult to form any real opinions at the moment, and it is harder still calling any trades either!!!

Will try and catch up over the weekend, I guess I am split by two very different perspectives, one how the world finds a vaccine to rid us of the COVID Virus threat, and two will there be any role Scancell can play in it.

On the first one I have two growing fears, being a second wave of the virus, bing predicted by more and more scientists and having ventured out just a few times recently can see quite clearly where the fears are eminating from.

Will let you know more when iget to catch up with.

Hopefully we will get the end of H1 Update for 2020 tomorrow possible, find it hard to see where we go next, and I wonder what info they can give us about trials which are still not confirmed can take place yet.

Botski. I am sorry but I haven"t seen more than a couple of posts suggesting we have been working unaffected, and that was from two posters trying to work out savings for the company by having staff in furlough.

Really can"t say I have been waiting for the company to say who has been first in or last out either!!
