Adam Davidson, CEO of Trident Royalties, discusses offtake milestones and catalysts to boost FY24. Watch the video here.
This was the bit that caught my eye. Might not be so bad if it's called in!
'Last year former First Minister for Wales, Carwyn Jones, was appointed to a new advisory board of GFG Alliance.
GFG said the board is tasked with guiding the company in delivering its strategic priorities to achieving best practice in environment, social and governance, particularly towards its carbon neutral 2030 target.
Former Welsh Government minister Edwina Hart, after leaving office, took up a role with the Greensteel Council, which was sponsored by Mr Gupta.'
Eric,
Your points about Gupta are concerning. I share you scepticism about SUP but still hope it comes good.
Please can you answer this.
Are you a shareholder? if so, why are you so negative about SAE's outlook ? If not, why do you inhabit the board?

My due share was 842 shares, I applied for a total of 6900 and got 3315 (£497.25). ie my excess was 3315-842 / 6900-842 =2473/6058= 41%
ultimately , I suspect they did simpler maths and divided people into tranches. I was in the £500 of shares tranche, which because I didn't apply for many was quite a high proportion of my excess
I would anticipate it would get called in. FOE made some good points and I anticipate it would need a national decision. If I'm wrong, then happy days. It's the EP that will make or break SUP, and that decision won't be made for a few months yet.
A decent CFD for tidal would be good news and I imagine that would also have a very positive effect on the SP.
Anyone got experience of lobbying/ petitioning our ministers?
Malik, i tried to stimulate a discussion last week re hydrogen. I came across some pretty powerful arguments that hydrogen is NOT the fuel of the future except for a few isolated circumstances. eg steel production. I still hold some AFC but reduced my holding last week after reading this, and not getting any convincing arguments for hydrogen.

What do you guys think. DW?
I'm not an experienced investor, but my understanding is that there is expectation that planning is likely to be approved and the real re-rating will come when/if an environmental permit is granted-May at the earliest.
Imagine some improvement from its current position likely if planning approved though.
thanks aandi. I must admit ,I took a position based upon the opportunity for this technology within a sector that was booming and I am bearish on hydrogen as a fuel given it's not as green as it's made out to be, so think biofuels are probably the way forward for shipping.
I haven't really got a great grasp on the fundamentals and not got much idea why this company should be more successful than it's peers. The analysis note gives some reassurance.
Reg,
While I hope your optimism is justified (and 14 people have recommended your post), in order to convert your post from a ramp to insight, please could you explain what you base the 5 fold projected increase in share price in 2021 (I assume its not just because last year it went up 5 fold), and could you explain why this 'transormational deal with a major industry player is just around the corner' (apart from there've been some 'likes' on twitter between palumbo and the wood group).
I'm sorry if this comes across as unnecessarily aggressive but there is a hell of a lot of speculation about sp with very little fact on this board-maybe I haven't gone back far enough to find the fact.
Thanks
Chasable
I'm not convinced the article will alter the share price much. The article came out on Friday, and all the positive comments are from Anthony Chow (agronomics) and not Oliver Telling (IC).
OT says '..it is difficult to know how Agronomics investments should be valued at such an early stage in their development'.
I think this will be a slow burner. - but worth a punt.
Yep, interesting article meerkat the article points to other options other than turning or landfill but doesn't really explain what these options are or how viable they are. I would prefer it if SAE focussed more on the tidal side of things as I'm not overly optimistic that they'll get SUP over the line
Thanks Meerkatmaker , and for such a. comprehensive response- I found it quite disheartening on the afc board- no-one there seemed interested in discussing the pros and cons of he industry, and I found the case against it pretty compelling . The thought of hydrogen being pushed by the fossil giants is a scary one. Hopefully the government aren't in the pockets of the nascent hydrogen industry, and the tidal lobbyists will hold sway.
What are your thoughts on the SUP part of SAE? I have reservations, though like the idea of not putting plastic into landfill if the environmental emissions case is sound.

the above is a link to a very bearish podcast on hydrogen -it seems a well constructed argument against using it when the sun doesnt shine and the wind doesnt blow. Theres also a link to a document 'gas industry fairytale or climate horror story'

Now, I also own shares in AFC and I imagine a fair few posters here do too. I tried to spark some discussion about the science behind hydrogen on the AFC board but it's pretty hopeless on there tbh - seems to be full of traders and the blindly optimistic just wittering on about SP and constant ramps/deramps
If any of you have time to have a listenread to the above, I'd be interested on your thoughts. Of course, if hydrogen isn't going to fill the space ,(for energy when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesnt blow), does that strengthen the hand of tidal? If these guys are wrong and there is a viable hydrogen industry that doesnt involve burning fossil fuels then let me know. I've reduced my holding in AFC as a result of this information as I'm not investing to continue supporting the burning of fossil fuels.
This board has not been plagued by constant sp speculation as much as others and I'd be interested on your thoughts as I imagine hydrogens loss could be tidals gain
Southernhay, I hope you're not including my post as one of the newbie shorters. I posted a link to a coherent argument against hydrogen in the hope that it would spark debate by people who have a deep understanding in the science and AFC to make a case FOR hydrogen. I've got no interest in momentum traders and blind optimism, or shorters and needless negativity.
