"...assuming it reached 12.80 as per the Elliot wave, is that anything can happen until you see another pattern emerge which you recognise and the process of trading happens again."
Absolutely. All major company news or events on the global markets would instantly takeout the chart projection. But still remain two decent options:
1) Negative global news / company news that leads to a price crash from one day to another. This is very unlikely, as these things did not happen not even in the past five years. So one should not bother about this possibility.
2) Fantastic company news that will lift the Sp to unseen levels. You still don't mind, because you are already positioned when you got your entry signal.
All in all TA is simply a road map. It does not show you every bumpy hole on your road, but it tells you "please turn right" after a sudden new TA signal. Up to you, how you handle your entry or at what speed you drive...
What will happen when 12.80p are reached? In this case you would hold a long term bullish signal on your desk, despite some more bumpy road.
But before too much speculation, lets handle it like that: "We will cross that bride when we come to it", as you say in the UK :))
