This drip feeding tells me that someone is selling in the background and does not want to scare the market just yet. MM's or allied financial partners have difficulties to maintain a stable bid price. So there must be more bidders than takers. I will stay invested with a little punt of money, not bothered about. Even if it retraces to 580 ish and the mentioned 480ish. If there is a capital offer I will likely participate.

Deutsche Bank reduced their stake as of 31 January: from 7.42% to 6.87% This could have been the drip sellers in recent weeks. Tells me that this is only the beginning and they might to want de-risk further and sell down to a 6%, 5% or 4% holding. And as soon as the t/o scenario comes up, they could participate and buy back their former stake on a huge discount. Sell high, buy low. Easy peasy, right? :))

DD77, Will you stay invested and keep holding since your entry, slightly below 700p? At the moment things look like more sideways, but at least stable. You see large supporting buys as soon as 670-627p is touched. Also we must note that PFG is quite oversold now. One problem is that Woodford (as well as Invesco) are taking more and more hits elsewhere (...CPI), and in the future they might not be able to support PFG anymore. If the Sp would not have seen supporting buys, then we would be 500ish by now. If Woodford runs out of fresh cash to buy more shares, then his only option will be to PFG bottom out (probably 589 / 485 and 450p) and then quickly announce a takeover at that super-discount. Actually it looks like Woodford & his club of II's are looking to do just that. So whoever stays invested after 671p falls apart, must be ready to carry all of the next steps. Or even have the guts to hold on to his stake down to ridiculous low price levels - and then wait for the takeover scenario that follows. @dbesim, I those were merely "late reported trades", huge 160k share trades as you mentioned, which have no meaning for the closing price or PFGs evaluation. The closing price normally is the uncrossing trade. As for the huge (old dated) trades: The LSE site simply looks at the higher trading price and rates them as "buys", whereas those could be sells from some earlier day.

And yet another day with drip drop feeding the market with sells. What to make of this...? Hmmm. That 671p must now hold under all circumstances, or PFG will resume the former down-trend and make more attempts to find a real bottom at around 589p. But with super nervous institutional investors everywhere you look, any negative news could see an overreaction and drop for PFG down to the shorters target of 485p. In that case my final target would be somewhat 450ish. (Currently invested since 667p.) So if something crazy happens in the next two weeks, I will watch from the sideline. Later on this year, after the main markets have taken a beat, I will probably buy back my entire former 3.5k share lot.

So by now, after the monthlong FTSE run, you hold several winners that may balance your PFG performance. Just think about how you successfully handled RBS with its sudden low and massive rebound. - Overall important for me: The amount of share I am keeping as core holding; like 5-7k which doesn't bother me - Lets remember that currently the 675p line is being maintained; even on yesterdays red FTSE day - last summer we've seen a super-low..., but the daily closing was 589p; this could be a massive double bottom support (can I survive such a low)? - shorters referring to Liberium Capital mentioned 485p target, where some plan to buy PFG bigtime - Think about why did you buy PFG in the first place? - If PFG keeps dropping and does touch 580 - 480ish again, I am quite sure that it will see a sudden takeover down there - Another good option is to use those intraday spikes PFG does regularly. Simply take 1k or 2k shares and place a limit sell order at some much higher price. If you are lucky those get soaked up intraday. Once when this was 820p it suddenly spiked to 905p - Yet another option is to de-risk right now and sell a small amount of shares, maybe 20% of the holding, just to feel a bit more comfortable with less gambling chips on the desk - Remember to place a sensible AT stoploss (who gave you the nerves to sit out two or three hundred Pence drop?) - Place an automatic onstop buy in case the stoploss is triggered, followed by a large rebound.

I for one will until my 660ish entry is reached. From there I will only sell 60% of my stake, and let the rest run through thick and thin. If I were holding a high entry I would calculate which amount of loss is acceptable to take right now? Maybe 50% of it? And then let the remaining 50% stay invested and see how it goes. Never good to take the entire loss at one time. Never good to take the entire profit at one time.
