The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
best thing since sliced veg? ;)
I'm in the same boat Mister Tidal, I scaled in over 9 months from june 2020 and got royally f**ed. I have absolutely no faith in management. We have been sold down the river. A real shame. Our only hope is some sort of contract to repurpose an international coal plant to burn the sub coal pellet tech.
Malik is just a trader, I wouldn't take much notice of his open shorts. If you read back on his tweets you'll see the following post on April 12th:

@MkangoResources
Stock now down to lows of 2021 yet not only is NDPR p nearly 50% higher since, the co also doubled its shareholding in the #RareEarths asset since to 100%.
Trading like roadkill.
Macro environment ever more supportive for project, as I describe below.
BUY
Well said Strangy83, I like you have been part of this rollercoaster from the euphoric heights of 28p to the depressing depths of 1p... I'm still to yet average down at this level as the company and more specifically CEO fill me with little confidence. Until we can attain steady revenues through further development of tidal array projects this isn't going anywhere anytime soon. I would wholeheartedly love to eat my own words but I now have a pessimistic view of the company after the raise for a measly £341k back in 2021.
Swing traders like yourself Freaktrader - please leave this board. We don't need pumping. This SP is going nowhere until contracts are won and Uksmouth outcome is settled.
Thanks for your concise breakdown casapinos - brutal but truthful. I think you're right the vast majority of shareholders are (like me) waiting for a miracle. A boost for tidal funding would certainly help but the loses incurred via the purchase of Uksmouth is what deeply worries me. It's been a sh*t show from start to finish. I've conceded this investment as a complete loss. Any form of recovery would be a very welcomed surprise. Fingers and toes crossed all...
It's an exploration company - patience is a virtue. This will come good.
SIMEC Atlantis Energy have raised £2.6m at a share price of 2.5p in a fresh equity raise, representing 16% of the enlarged share capital.
The company now have the working capital to support its operations whilst they wait for Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to process its environmental permit for the Uskmouth plant.
We expect NRW to complete their review by the 6th of October and the public consultation to be complete by the 19th of October. NRW are scrutinising the compliance of the permit with law and therefore are not discretionary as conventional planning permitting. Simec are confident that their permit is compliant with EU and UK legislation and defined in plant permits by NRW.
We are not currently rating the stock nor providing a target price during this process. The result of the permitting will dramatically change the near-term direction of the company. Investors are rightfully scrutinising binary risk around the plant. Following a permit being granted, Simec’s near term earnings prospects will significantly widen its financing options.
Notwithstanding the permitting, Simec has a joint venture with N+P Group for the supply of pellets as well as the core pellet combustion technology developed with Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems. Uskmouth is the pilot project. SIMEC wish to use this pilot to distribute the technology to a far broader base, possibly through licensing. Uskmouth is not the only site where the technology and pellets can operate. It is for now where SIMEC are focussed and engaged.
Whilst the near-term financials of the company place significant concentration risk on this catalyst, it need not render the company palliative should permitting not be granted given the number of coal stations the world over. Uskmouth has the potential to generate £29m in FCF in year two and £50m in year three.
donotpanic, he does my head in - anytime there's price movement he spams the board with day trading nonsense. I'm all for positivity and believe me I'm over the moon that we've had some positive news but the hourly predictions are just pointless imo.
Excellent research on the impact of tidal technology amongst sea wildlife!
Groundbreaking research by Doug Gillespie and colleagues published today - https://bit.ly/3wrbZK0 the study measured fine-scale evasion of #harbourporpoise around an operational #tidalenergy turbine in the Pentland Firth

Received a reply to my email from the investor relations address:
"In terms of updates we have been keeping the market updated via RNSs but also the introduction of our regular company update, which is designed to provide information on the everyday work we are doing to deliver our projects.
The last update provided information on our Uskmouth project, as well as our tidal and hydro businesses (https://simecatlantis.com/2021/06/16/4969/). On Uskmouth, the next step in the ‘call in’ process is the Planning Inspectorate conducting their review of our environmental statement and we are awaiting their feedback (https://simecatlantis.com/2021/05/24/uskmouth-planning-update/). We are still driving forward though and we are very excited by our recent announced partnership with Remediiate. Work has already started with them and we are pulling together some videos to help explain the process and why we are so excited about the opportunities for Uskmouth and beyond.
On shareholders. we updated the market last month (https://simecatlantis.com/2021/06/09/company-update-2/) and will of course update as soon as we have anything new to add.
We appreciate the concern of our shareholders but want to reassure you that we remain fully focused on the delivery of our exciting projects and will of course to keep you updated as soon as we have new information."
It certainly would be nice to have a rep from SIMEC Atlantis on a platform such as investormeetcompany. I agree that concerns must be addressed regarding Uksmouth, ideally by Graham Reid. It might be worth compiling an email to investor relations to prompt an update? Has anyone had a response from ir@simecatlantis.com before?
