Disappointing and potentially a disgraceful deal7 May 2022 18:16
Firstly I was shocked that 'Morrisons' did not do/offer more to ensure this got over the line, the bigger picture will only be clear to them WHEN they start to lose market share, as their buying power will not match those growing around them, very foolish of them to let this slip through their fingers imho.
Secondly, IF the Issa Brothers manage to pull this off then it is stated that payment of pensions will not be part of the deal, this is unforgivable, hard working employees most of whom will be heavily reliant on this, in this day and age the LAW should protect such things from happening, the EG group could honor this no problem, hope all that will suffer will swerve them and their outlets indefinately.
Finally, to those on the board at McColls, shame on you, for the way in which this has been handled, how you have NOT protected the share holders, and kept them reliably informed, a lot of misdirection and miscommunication, hope you ALL end up jobless, not the staff, just the board members.
THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST STITCH UPS I'VE EVER SEEN OR BEEN PART OF!
End.
