Nonsense, it is about short term opportunities in the market on both sides:
"Legendary investors Warren Buffett, 88, and John C. “Jack” Bogle, 89, agree on the key to successful investing: Buy and hold the stock market for the long term"
I'm on the verge too Midway. They seem incapable of showing live bid/offer to more than 2 decimal places, e.g. I hold some UJO so for example when it was 0.125 - 0.13 it showed 0.13-0.13 - hopeless despite promises to fix. Their live trades page is almost always out if sync with the watch list (different volume and bid/offer). Yet their developers spend time stuff such as different colour modes!
Some links give 404 errors, some jump to pages on Shares. It is a bit amateurish to be honest, would be more professional if they had replaced it with a landing page and a link to Shares. Mind you I have got lots of issues with Shares, it still is nowhere near as good as MaM was with live data and they have had over a year to get stuff right.
"On Friday, the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) prohibited short selling of a raft of shares in Italian and Spanish firms, after a request from authorities in those countries for the action, which is designed to protect that list of companies."
Their RNS today makes it clear they have done a good job in hedging , so the slump in oil price has been mitigated somewhat.
"Premier has hedged c. 30 per cent of its full year 2020 oil and gas entitlement production at an average oil equivalent price of $60/bbl. This includes 40 per cent of the Group's oil production for the first half of the year hedged at $64/bbl. "
The market clearly likes this. Our partners are experienced and professional.
"Oil prices had rebounded by 8% on Tuesday after Russia signalled that talks to limit supplies in line with the Opec oil cartel, which broke down last Friday and triggered the biggest price drop in nearly 30 years, were still possible."
