We argue that Bexmarilimab could fundamentally change the future of CPI-refractory
treatment. The candidate has a proven ability to alter the tumour microenvironment, converting
highly immunosuppressive βM2β macrophages into immune stimulating βM1β macrophages,
igniting anti-cancer immune responses.
Next-generation checkpoint inhibitors are on Big Pharma's radar, owing to the large patient
population that does not benefit from the currently marketed CPIs and the patients who
become CPI-refractory following initial treatment response. We believe the enormous sales
potential of next-generation CPIs (we estimate peak annual Bexmarilimab sales surpassing
USD 4.3bn) and potential synergies with currently marketed CPI assets will incentivize Big
