Hi Peak, I find myself clicking on all RR. stories and the fool churn out a bunch. Like you I noted their thesis always revolve around a drop in earnings (not revenue), it's true the FY23 the was the removal of an incumbrance (circa £400m) which will be a one off but also like you I look at RR. forecasts which I hold to be the most accurate, if those forecasts are true then the forward p/e of 27-30 is rubbish and makes their analysis worthless (like we didn't know that already). So I'm with you that the balance of probability is that this stock has a ways to go (up)

It's there!
Looks like a huge surge in positive bets on RR. going long, inflows up 271% apparently.. bodes well

"I agree Casualtrader - I don't see Purdah stopping the process - The process is already costed and accounted for and is apolitical - if the Tories had any sense they would ensure RR get the lions share of the contract so they can brag about how much they support British jobs etc, etc, etc..."
Agree, it's politically a win win for any side and process will roll on, it doesn't at this stage attract an overly large investment.
From RR. market perspective, just remaining in the process incrementally reduces uncertainty and creates potential value that will contribute to price (as it does today) to whatever extent
The selection stage (June) is I suspect independent of politics, the decision making body GBN are going to continue, their remit is to select 2 candidates to go forward with, that will take them into a deeper technical assessment before then (in 2+ years) start to think about locations and contracts. IMHO

Sells by the looks of it, strange it didn't impact price today.. may hit tomorrow..
If you read the article, it quotes updates from February and March, it doesn't name the 6 who have apparently shifted to hold or sell so not sure if this is old news with a fresh date on it or serious new news..
Fake nettles, you have been reported, bye bye
As with so many other incarnations of this loser just block them, they can the post into the void and still get their kicks.. just listening to their own voice seems to amuse them..
Never seen such a large differential between buys and sells £233 million in sells to £14 million in buys.. £189 million in just 3 transactions.. harbinger of doom or no big deal?
Someone dropped £12m on RR. at 16:37..
The previous Barclays update was on the 8th of Jan and read..
Barclays raises Rolls-Royce price target to 409 (270) pence - 'overweight'
So looks like it is a bump up to 430.. sadly.. looks like someone failed to observe the formalities associated to the update notifications protocols!!
@Nettles, we finally get the Barclays updated price target. I assume it didn't reflect what you expected it to be?
