A UK clean-technology company is targeting hydrogen and waste-to-energy projects across the Middle East and North Africa.
The firm has signed a marketing agreement to pursue waste-to-hydrogen opportunities in several countries, including Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait and Oman.
UK clean-technology company Powerhouse Energy Group has signed a marketing agreement with Green Gecko Energy Limited to expand its waste-to-hydrogen and waste-to-syngas technology across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). Under the agreement, Green Gecko will act as Powerhouseβs sole agent for identifying and introducing potential projects across the Abraham Accord countries, the wider MENA and GCC region, and selected markets in Asia.
Green Gecko has already identified potential project sites in Bahrain, Egypt, Kuwait and Oman, focusing on facilities that process tyres, plastics, elastomers and other polymer waste streams. These projects would use Powerhouseβs high-temperature pyrolysis (HTP) modular technology, which converts non-recyclable waste into syngas. The resulting syngas can then be upgraded into hydrogen or used as a feedstock for other energy applications.
