The partnership is a response to the growing demand for SAF, which is being driven by regulations like the UK's SAF mandate, which took effect in early 2025. This mandate requires fuel suppliers to blend a percentage of SAF into their fuel supply.

Role of Powerhouse Energy Group: Powerhouse will supply two of its 2.5-tonne-per-day gasification units from its technical center in Bridgend. These units will convert the waste into syngas, which is a key component for producing SAF. Powerhouse will sell these units to Avioxx and may also enter into a service agreement.

Future Plans: Project Eden is the first of several planned phases. Avioxx's roadmap includes a 5,000 tonnes per annum plant (Project Genesis) and a 32,000 tonnes per annum commercial-scale plant (Project Ascend) in the future.
