Red Setter Gold Dome Project – Drilling Extends Mineralised Zone and Confirms Broader Breccia System
Wishbone Gold Plc (AIM: WSBN, AQSE: WSBN) is pleased to report encouraging progress from ongoing diamond drilling at the Company’s Red Setter Gold Dome Project, located 20 km south-west of Greatland Gold Plc’s Telfer mine in Western Australia’s Paterson Range (Figure 1).
The Company’s second diamond drill hole (#25RSDD002) — a 200 m step-out to the south-west of Hole 1 — has intersected a broad and continuous 230 m mineralised interval, beginning at approximately 520 m and extending to 750 m, with mineralisation continuing at depth (Figures 2–10).
Within this zone, a well-developed breccia pipe occurs from 560 m to 742 m (≈ 182 m thick), representing an increase of about 30 m over the 152 m breccia logged in Hole 1. The broader and more intense alteration signature suggests that drilling is moving closer to the core of the mineralised system.
The mineralised sequence displays strong quartz-carbonate veining, abundant chalcopyrite and pyrite, and pervasive hematite-silica alteration. Several zones exhibit visible gold, highlighting the high-grade potential of the Red Setter breccia complex.
Hole 2, now at a current depth of approximately 750 m, continues in mineralised ground, with assays pending. Drilling will continue in hole #25RSDD002 to depths of up to 1,000m, as long as the core observations and mineralisation continue to support this.”
Assay results from Hole 1 are imminent, following completion of sample preparation at ALS Laboratories in Perth. These results will provide a critical benchmark for the increasingly robust intersections now being drilled in Hole 2.
Following the successful £4 million capital raise, Wishbone is fully funded to accelerate exploration, including mobilising a second diamond rig and initiating double-shift drilling operations across the Red Setter Dome. This expansion will allow rapid follow-up on the highly promising intersections reported to date.
Ed Mead, Director WA, commented:
> “We are extremely encouraged by the continuity and strength of mineralisation in Hole 2. The breccia zone has thickened, the alteration intensity has increased, and we are clearly vectoring toward the system’s central core. Seeing visible gold at this stage is an exceptional indicator of the system’s potential.
With Hole 1 assays due shortly and an expanded drilling programme about to commence, Wishbone is positioned to advance rapidly toward what could be a significant gold-copper discovery at Red Setter.”
