good family pubs16 May 2014 15:03
Visited the Burnt Oak in MK yesterday with daughter and 6month old grandson. Good meal deals and child friendly, could be compared to wetherspoons for food prices. Had lite bite fish and chips followed by crumble and custard at 2 for £9. Could have had a pint for £1 but had already had a free one, see website for details, so didn't take them up on this. Positive dining experience in the middle of the day so the business model seems good. Also visited their new pub in Hunstanton, brilliantly sited and should make a fortune in summer and tick over in winter. In it for the medium long term as reasonable dividends and "cleaned up" assets with positive investment in promising new pubs.
