perhaps and maybe not the first time DCB you appear to be missing the point here. Italy, Greece and maybe Spain are all irrelevant and will be forced to work harder to feed the German miracle. But the longer this drags on the more of the voters will begin to wonder whether this miracle is for them and perhaps more to the point be willing to a load of dosh in the European kitty to keep the "dream" alive. The way I see it the news emanating from Europe right now is not exactly boosting the Remainers cause.

Most banks especially the European and French ones in particular have been reducing their exposure to Italy over the last 12 months following the debacle in Greece so from that aspect the falls have already been overdone it would seem. The situation in Italy is a tricky one as it takes a stab at the core of the EU and as such it is a more direct challenge to Brussels/Berlin as laundry will be washed in public and other member States may will find sympathy with some of the arguments put forward by the populist movement in Italy. I wood suggest the only people that did not see this coming have been the Brussels elite- for the very simple obvious reasons. On this board the Brussels "gate keepers" have been dismissing Italy as an "irrelevance " to the European project so I guess we had better remember what was said and look the other way and keep whistling "Ode to Joy" and pretend none of this is happening.happy days- hopefully the sun will come out again soon.
