Investors get tired of holding dead shares and dead money. If the company's policy is not to keep investors in the loop then this is the result. Ultimately it is a foolish approach by the company, which at some point may need to tap the market for more cash for research, development or acquisitions. That said, it is a common occurrence with AIM listed companies often run by innovators rather than market savvy management. Investors are will aware that they will loose money on 75% of AIM listed companies.
Could have been worse Singe, The fake pandemic could have seen you being forcibly locked in like they are in China. Maybe you have something to be grateful for? I suggest these levels are reasonable entry level for you to get into LLOY? On a 10 year view of course. DYOR of course, and shares can go down as well as up.
When shares are trading at a discount it's always worth considering a buyback. Realistically the level of buyback and constant reissue of shares has little impact on the direction of the share price either way imo.
The absolute horror of having the Opposition taking over the reigns of this country is enough for most to hold their noses. The British population is not dumb as Labour would have them be. Te leftie Remainer media has been undermining the PM from the day he was elected as pay back for Brexit. The real loser is the country as we have no credible opposition to offer constructive advice and suggestion. Just bitter character assassination day in day out. When is Starmer going to pay his fine?
it is never a good time to raise taxes. The Govt has had to support the economy for the best part of two years and throw resources at fighting the pandemic. Yes mistakes were made, but the same mistakes were made by every country around the world and no doubt one would hope valuable lessons have been learnt. Furthermore our population has been growing at a rate faster than taxes collected leaving funding shortfalls wrt social welfare, services and healthcare. There are no issue answers and no painless solutions. The spike in the cost of energy just rounds of events nicely.
I have run fracking operations in the oil field. The practice is commonplace and safe so long good practice is adhered to. Legislation in place in this country is more than adequate to ensure the public's safety and protect the environment. If this court is to move to an era of secure energy supply then it will have too come by embracing a numbest of alternatives not exclusively wind. Shale gas, nuclear and tidal options must all be included to this end
There are any number of suitable rivers where tidal energy can be harnessed as any yachtsman will tell you. If the Govt really wants to increase the level of energy self sufficiency I hope somebody will pick this baton up and have a word with Mrs Johnson.
