Thursday now and still not received my dividends for my 30,300 Shell shares.
Usually, I get them paid the day they are due.

Just checked my account with First Direct and no payment received yet.

Dividend yield quite poor.
Am also tempted to take profit but where to invest in?

I am heavy invested in CNA (no divi at all) and this stupid windfall tax.
My 2nd largest holding is LGEN. Massive divi but share price not performing.

I think I keep my fingers quiet now. lol

A lot of small companies went bust. The big ones have to fix the problem and now, they have to pay a stupid tax.

What a mess:

So fed up with this UK government. Since Brexit, economy in freefall, £ a compete mess.
Price cap on energy prices. Some middlemen came into the game and had not a leg to stand on.
When they went bust, government begging the big players to take the stranded customers on.
Same for the ones like Shell, BP etc. US oil companies didn't fall a lot during covid and they continued to pay dividends.
CNA fell from 90 pence to 33 and no more dividends.
Now, they start to make money again, how dare they to think about dividends? Naughty one.
We are the owners, shareholders are the owners. We deserve a return on our investment.
Now the press will be all over it. They do not speak one word about that shareprice lost 60% of value and more then 2 years no dividends.
Oil companies were forced into green energy investments, pull our of Russia and write down billions and now, they are pushed to up the game in the North Sea.
If I would be one of the big players, i would tell the government to f.... off.
You want us to lose billions with Russia, you want us to go green, you want us invest in the North Sea again.
Where is financial help for us? No, now you want to tax us extra, just to look good and to gain some voters.

Friday, I was very close to sell my 280,000 CNA and to re-invest in LGEN which pays 7% dividend.

But... suddenly upgrades and new targets of 120pence and up plus joining the FTSE 100 again, I thought, stick to it, the worst is over.

Should have trusted my guts.

Better to invest in the USA.
They would show Biden the middle finger.

Would not be surprised if at those levels, Shell or BP would sniff around and make a take over offer.
