British technology recruitment company Networkers International PLC (NWKI.L: News ), Monday, reported a 19.3% growth in its full year 2008 profit, despite lower revenue, citing its 2007 initiated strategic focus on international expansion that has resulted in strong international growth, especially in the second half. Going forward, the company expects overseas earnings to go over 50% in 2009. Following the news, shares of the company are currently trading nearly 21% higher on the London Stock Exchange. The Kent-based company's profit attributable to equity holders of the parent rose to GBP 3.46 million from GBP 2.90 million last year. Earnings per share increased to 3.59 pence from prior year's GBP 2.98 pence. On an adjusted basis, earnings amounted to 3.98 pence per share, 8.4% higher than 3.67 pence per share in the prior year. Full-year profit before tax increased 20.3% to GBP 5.57 million from GBP 4.63 million in 2007. Revenue for the year ended December 31, 2008, decreased to GBP 163.43 million from GBP 177.93 million in the previous year. However, gross margins improved to 15.9% from last year's 13.7% and overall net fee income, or gross profit, increased 6.8% to GBP 26.1 million from GBP 24.4 million in 2007. In 2007, the company made a strategic decision to focus its efforts on improving and diversifying its sales mix and to continue to deliver solid international expansion.
