I’d love to believe of multiple bids, a bidding war or even a firm offer via RNS, however from previous experience when the whole board gets frothy and excited usually the exact opposite happens. I hope I’m wrong this time, however this could be driven into the ground and shorts decreasing, increasing and so on playing their MM games for the hedge funds benefits. Why would anyone buy ASOS now when In 6-12 months they potentially could take over in bankruptcy. There’s and long and short argument here and us private investors always are on the wrong side of the trade. I for one is getting excited and not expecting any SP movement tomorrow.

2.8m shares traded so far today which is 554% of normal daily volume. What’s going on here? How can the volume be so high with so many huge trades going though without the SP rising? For every sell there has to be a buyer unless the markets are playing games. £13’000’000 traded today. Shorts closing? Someone loading up for a take over? Any insights or comments welcomed.

Would the investment banks and hedge funds currently shorting ASOS so heavily, be worried with the potential M&A activity as seen today with THG? A surprise 40% jump at current levels would see the SP at 1050 a level not seen since August 22. With results and company update just weeks away there could/should be some pressure on the shorts to potentially close their positions? Thoughts.

Regurgitating old news! You don’t seem to have a finger on the macro pulse old boy. Terminal fed rate readjusted due to the collapse of SVB which has now been dealt with with all depositors funds guaranteed. US gov have nipped this in the bud and watch Fed Powell tomorrow suggest either no more rate rises or just one 25bip more. Todays futures are flying with Nasdaq up +2%… so why did ASOS drop 8% Friday? And why wouldn’t it rise significantly today?

We will see who’s right in 15 mins.

Good morning all ASOS shareholders, I think we are going to rocket to the moon today 8am lift off. Just check the charts, could easily be a +10% day.

Agreed, however where is the majority of ASOS client base specifically located? I’m sure the UK/EU makes up the largest percentage of sales.

From the macro the US data affects the global markets and sentiment. I believe however people are employed and spending and with spring/summer round the corner retail sales will boom especially after the last few years.

Next 3-6 months I’m sure we will see more shirts close and the SP move up level after level, next stop is breaking 1000 and staying above this.

UK Consumer Confidence Has Sharpest Rebound in Almost Two Years:

UK household confidence rebounded by the most in almost two years in February as signs started to emerge that the worst bout of inflation in four decades is starting to ease.

Boohoo now up +13% if Citadel does the old switcheroo on ASOS we will get another massive bump up. Shorters know they have to close after US retail figures in January highest in years and breaking the trend.

So Made have sold all their furniture now, so how long should we have to wait to find out if we get 1p a share or nothing at all?

Yes, US markets have responded well to the Fed’s announcements last night, Asian equities up and European futures looking good. Bodes well for a solid and continuing rise in ASOS today. GLA

Looks like the announcement by the Fed chair tonight could cause risk assets to pullback tomorrow after rapid share price rises in January. Higher for longer, the Fed will stay the course with more rate increases needed in the coming months.

I wonder if this will also affect ASOS after it’s 70% rise year to date.

Any thoughts on how long shareholders will have to wait and what might be offered back per share if anything? Maybe 1-2p a share?

Shorts closing for sure… absolutely zero reason now for them to be shorting ASOS, given the 6 months + outlook, peak inflation globally was 2022, slow and steady recovery. If CPI print comes in lower than expected this afternoon this will bounce hard again. 800 will be seen within days and possibly £10 held strong by EO Q1.

Markets are always forward pricing 6-9 months in advance. Current SP reflects a continuation or a worsening 2023 for ASOS. This RNS tells a different story and is extremely bullish. Streamlining costs, getting rid of 35 unprofitable brands and increasing pricing on own brands. Company turning back to net profitability in H2 23, offsetting all inflationary headwinds.

I’m not sure the shorts thought the company would release a statement a positive as this. At current levels this has to be a long term buy and hold.

Any thoughts or opinions on the latest RNS? Any value for shareholders in January or total wipeout?

Can someone please explain why Boohoo has risen 12+ this week whilst ASOS is flat for the week? The general market has risen and risk in assets have had a good week, so why has asos not benefited as well? Both companies are massively shorted and exactly the same sector…

I would hate to be short growth stocks like ASOS right now. The rally seen last night in the US followed by Asia this morning… we could see a serious short squeeze here today 10%+ and running up to Christmas this could break 1000p. Just look at the 6 month chart, ASOS was 1500p. This could just be another relief rally like we saw in July, but it could also be that inflation is actually starting to turn a corner. Neil, I didn’t think they were in administration yet, which is 10 days from last Monday 1st so it should be the same deal as if they were bought in October for what we all hoped for 15-20p per share. I also could be wrong…

If Made is sold for 2m-3m and the firm doesn’t go into administration, does this mean that the outstanding shares in issue will receive circa 0.5p per share, which is the current SP and market cap of 2m?

Really not sure how this works, any guidance or words of wisdom gratefully appreciated.
